Hi!
I've tried to read this thread- oh my god there's loads! I'm not very good with this so bear with me!!
We're a family of four, me (wifey), hubby (mechanic) and two kids under 5.
TRA was sent 12/6/08, we got our letter back on the 26th August- aaagghhhh we got our visa sent of by UPS the same day!! It arrived 3rd Sept (omg please don't send it back to us because we missed the deadline...)
We want to head to Perth (family orientated) we have extended family there too. I'm going 'blind' as I've never been to Oz- BRING IT ON! Can't be worse than here... Hubby has close family in Brisbane (he's been there) so there's another possibility.
It's great to read stories from people feeling the same!! Oh the waiting!!!
13/12/07 visa receipted (£900 poorer at Christmas- ouch)
10/01/08 A file number!!!

Have you sent for your police checks? Now you have a file no you can do your meds

I downloaded a form from the PSNI website, filled them in and hand delivered them to our local police station, it was easy enough, you can just post them too. Where all did you check for medicals, we just checked with the ulster clinic, coleraine hospital and Larne health centre.

It was a while ago I phoned round most of the hospitals on the list and Downpatrick came in the cheapest. It probably isn't as handy for you as it would be for us - living in Newtownards. Had to do jury service a few years ago and had to drive to Downpatrick nearly every day for about 6 weeks, it was no fun but unfortunately one of those things that has to be done
Going to ring them today again to see what the wait is like..........Lynn xx

Just found our Full Ack email sent last week sitting in the spam folder, between the viagra and 20 year old Russian girl would like to meet you spam
. Not happy with OH for forgetting to check it as he supposedly did
. PCC's have been sent and meds were done on 20th December and sent begining of Jan. Hope that DIAC keep up the good work and get us pesky August applicants off their backs soon
Good luck to those still waiting and hopefully their are some CO's and grants to come before end of the week

But its well worth it as ive just had that email from my agent ive been waiting for ..........FULL ACK AND REF NO!!!!!!!
My meds have already been sent and my Pcc's should be back in another fortnight or so so getting nearer by the day!!!

WOW and more full acks
strange how the pccs work different for everyone?!
we had to get the forms at our local police office and send them off to the headquater - and it took them 38 days
i also had to apply for austrian pcc's and they took only 13 days

Hi All,
I emailed my agent last week to see if she had any progress on our application, she said there has been nothing yet - basically to sit tight and she will let us know when she hears anything
Are we the only applicants from August still waiting on Full Ack?
We haven't booked meds or requested police checks yet either, do you think this is something we should be looking into now?

We are in the same position, we e mailed our agent on thursday night to see what is happening, havent heard from him either, but that is prob due to bank hol in oz, still waiting on our full ack, we thought we were the only ones, it is really frustrating waiting, we got our police checks done back in Nov, took a month to come back, but we havent orgainsed our medicals yet, there isnt really a waiting list here in NI for them, we enquired a few months ago. If I was you I would send off for your police checks, but wait for full ack before booking meds.

Hi Guys, when did you lodge your application?
We are still waiting on a pre or full ack we don't mind really, so I honestly feel your pain.
We got our PCC back in Nov they took the full 40days, so if I were you I would crack on with them. As for meds like yourself we are waiting till we have a ref number.

We got our full ack last week while on hols, so I rang the Dr yesterday, to say it was OK to send on the medicals to LCU. Turned out he sent them on the 7th Dec. So they could actually be processed by now!!
I haven't heard anything back from them yet. Will keep you posted.
Theoretically this puts us in the "possible" window for actually getting a visa grant. Which made me a VERY happy bunny yesterday.
But now, since that August spreadsheet ( now set as my home page
) got updated with those actual august visa grants, every time I get an email ping, my heart jumps a little, and I feel a little bit sick.
I get something in the region of 70 emails (after spam) a day, so I reckon I'll be having a massive coronary/exploding ulcer sometime around middle to end of feb. The race is on.
By easter I shall be mostly drinking jack daniels and shiraz.
I expect this is why the Medicals are only valid for a year, cos you age 10 years while you're waiting for the next bit to come through.
I haven't heard anything back from them yet. Will keep you posted.

Our visa was sent by our agent on 24th Aug, money taken beginning of Dec but still not heard anymore. I have read that they are looking to reply to all Aug applicants by 15th Feb but just wanted some reassurance really
