Hi Irishgal, are you settled now in Melbourne, whereabouts are you? We really loved it there, very different to Sydney and so much nicer. Shame as all the rellies are in Sydney so would make for an easier life if we lived there. I got lost in Melbourne when I spent the day shopping. I wasn't at all bothered. I grabbed a coffee and stood on the corner of Flinders St getting my bearings and eventually walked back to our apartment with not a care in the world. The people there were really friendly and helpful. [/QUOTE]
We love it here. We're living in the east side of Melbourne about 15km away from the CBD - and only 10 mins from my sister. All settled in well. Made lots of friends through the school and a group of 20 of us are going into the Comedy Festival in a few weeks time. Hubbie loves his job - and the kids doing brilliant in school. We move into our new house next month. Can't wait.

what more could you ask for?
it's great to hear that everything is working out so well for you, and good luck with the move.
i hope we settle as well as you have, when the time comes.

Yes, near there (Don't want to say as I had a bit of a stalker
). Are you here too?
Hairart/Debbie, after everything you've been through, you truly deserve to settle in here with no problems. I think having kids has been a really great way of making friends as there are so many social activities through the school. I've been blessed with the mum's from my daughters' Prep Class. They really went out of their way to make me feel welcome (as I came in half way through the year). We actually go out socialising with them which is lovely.
I think another good thing we did was contact prospective employers for my OH before we left. Maybe 1-2 months before you leave to introduce yourself. My OH had 5 interviews lined up the first week and ended up going with the guy we contacted 6 months before we left!

Unfortunately, with the new changes we have to wait until end of March if DIAC finish to allocate case officers for post-sept07 csl aplicants at that time. We are next in the list after csl post-sept07 applicants.

Yes, I think they are supposed to allocate COs to us after March 20 (MODL/Non-CSL, HR Country). But I am so so lucky...got a CO Feb 19. Or they probably take some other applications at random also. Just submitted though the COs additional requirements....so waiting, waiting. I hope you guys get your COs soon.

Only on MODL (Accountant-External Auditor) (ASCO 2212-11), from Philippines. They probably thought my nominated occupation was just accountant (ASCO 2211-11 with IELTS 7.5 )so they considered me on CSL.
