How did you all prove the value of your assets? Mine are all tied up in my house @ the moment until it's sold? Did you all send bank statements too!?

Only if you take citizenship after four years. If you stay PR you don't. Many people never take out citizenship.

RIGHT NOW i v just declared the cash and cash convertibles and propertry and everything..... not sure i can show 40000 AUD net cash in an account coz its invested in savings certificate
i think u shud declare everythign and if they ask then u give them a statement .. one guy gave a chartered accountant statement and it was ok
another gave a bank statement scanned copy and it was accepted
not sure they verify it or not coz in boht cases.. time between receiving the document by state to final decision was not enuff to verify the document
thats my thought though.... others can shed some light whether they think it was verified or its just a paper requirement

Declare as in just say that I have a house that has a potential £100,000 equity on it? If they looked @ my bank account statements I think they'd send me a sympathy letter to be honest lol

hi,
i did not submit any bank statement. i don't have a property but my husband's mom has and all we did was that we have a lawyer to make an affidavit that my mother in law has a property and will sell it and the money will be divided to her seven children stating how much each gets and that the other two brothers waived their share for us since they are living in USA & AU. We also printed the email of my brother in law living in Sydney saying his commitment to help us financially and is willing to give this certain amount to start our life in Darwin. And it was approved. In fact we stated not the 65000 for a famiy of four but only 45000.

i think on NT website they quote some figures
for two persons 45k AUD is enufffff

There is a part on the NT SS application which asks about assets. I have just phoned my solicitor who would be willing to help me put something together to say that I have at least AU$50,000 of equity tied up in my house. What way did other people have this written? As an affidavit or what? And if an affidavit what sort of wording did people use in these? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated....

Get your financial statement certified by a CA
Declare how much liquid assets, and disposable assets you have,
For SS approval they don't insist on bank statements just the above statement is sufficient.
Required funds for settelment
For single its $ 35k
COUPLE $ 50K
COUPLE WITH ONE CHILD $ 60K
the above are official figures
