Can one map 2231-79 (MODL-J2EE) to Systems analyst 261311 or 261311 Analyst Programmer- Because my work does not map to the 'TESTER' at all as mentioned in the mapping.

my friend was successfully assessed by ACS for 2231-79 nec(Network and Internet Security Specialist) and he received his letter in may 2010. Now since there is no direct mapping of this profession in new SOL list in neither of the schedule. So kindly let me know what he must do to apply for his general skill visa application to DIAC. Either he should go for reassessment. if yes can he go for it in profession ICT Security Specialist(ANZSCO 262112) with the same documents which was send previously to ACS, as he had the more or less same job responsibilities. Also if he can go for Computer Network and Systems Engineer(ANZSCO 263111), but for it he have to change his experience certificate a bit compared to which he send previously to ACS. Also will ACS charge again for reassessment or will it be free.

For ACS technology doesn't matter at this point of time so can you please describe your work? Are you into design, coding, testing, deployment, team leading etc??

Hi everyone,
I am planning for the re-assessment as I have received my Result letter on 22nd June. I wasn't awarded any specialization in 2231-79 and I am wondering whether they would provide me any ANZSCO code which would make me eligible for the 60 points. I think the letter (Job description letter) from my employer wasn't very clear and thats the reason they have not granted me any specialization. I checked "Application for Review of Assessment" form and there I see that Grounds of Assessment Review -> "Experience" and "Change of ASCO/ANZSCO Code". I was just wondering if I can send them my employer's letter with more details description about my jobs and responsibilities along with the application. What I know is that the review is free of cost for reviewing for ASCO - ANZSCO code but not sure if they'll review the experience if I send them the letter? Can anyone suggest how do I proceed?
Regards,
Misbah

According to the new priority, IT graduates who have already applied under the occupation 2231-79 Computing Professional (ICT Recent Graduate) will fall into category 4?
This is very illogical because for new applicants, they can now apply as one of the ICT occupations on the new SOL (eg. Developer Programmer or Software Engineer) instead of being grouped together as Computing Professional (ICT Recent Graduate), which is no longer on the SOL.
Would this mean that new ICT Graduates who apply under the new rule will fall into category 3 but ICT Graduates that already applied under the old rule will fall into category 4?
So, given two people with the same qualification from the same university who finished at different time, the one who finished later and applied using the new rule will get the application processed before the one who finished earlier and applied using old rule?
Does anyone know if there is a work around to this problem or if they are attempting to fix this problem? This is because there seems to be no way out. You can't change the occupation and get new assessment. Also, for graduates who have been graduated for over 6 months can't even make a new application even though you can be assessed as one of the ICT occupations in the new SOL.

You are eligible for free assessment. I believe ACS will do re-assessment based on the documents you have sent before. But still you can send in the new experience letter along with your certified copy of your ACS result letter. There is nothing wrong in trying. While applying for free assessment just nominate yourselves to a ANZSCO code that suits you more.
ACS will contact you if they need more information. But I am not quite sure what ANZSCO code will be given to you after the re-assessment. In case if they don't consider your updated experience letter, then I believe you will be mapped to the default code 261399.

Not sure but they might do some transitional arrangements for IT people who are already waiting since long,
If not, there will only two options left for us who applied as ICT recent grads are
1) Apply for new applications
2) Or keep waiting for decision on existing application without hope being processed in near future.
Oh God.. when will we get good night sleep
