I strongly recommend following their Xpresspost method for sending your stuff to Ottawa rather than couriering it as they'll mail the COPR back in the self addressed Xpresspost envelope you send to them. That way you should get the COPR back quicker!

Thanks for the tip! And thanks to everyone on the forum, it really does make the process much less stressful.

Hello All,

I just posted a quick hello in the Introduction thread but wanted to say thanks to you as well. My other half and I have found all the Canadian discussion threads and wiki information extremely helpful when applying for my visa (not to mention the reassuring information we found here after discovering that London processing times shot up to 29 months).

Thanks a lot and Hello!

hey guys! i still haven't heard back about my extension for a visitor visa. I know i will be on implied status after tuesday 19th. My question is my employer wants me to work Tuesday, am i right in thinking if my IEC expires May 19th i can work up until Midnight of the 19th?
Don't want to leave anything to chance.

Just seen on CIC that inland visitor applications online can take 63 days, hence why i haven't heard anything as i applied 19th april. London was 13 days but that was outland.

Just check that the actual work permit shows an expiry date of 19th then its safe to work.

So frustrating waiting. We have sold our uk house, are in the process of buying a house in Canada, have the kids enrolled in school for September and are booking flights for 26th July.

just waiting, hoping, praying for application approval before we leave.....
If it makes you feel any better, we're in the exact same boat (app received Oct. 24/2014 still in app received status).
We've sold as well and are flying to Canada July 10. We've accepted my wife won't have received her PR by then. So, she's expecting a nice long holiday till it does. I don't think we'll get if before October the way apps have been processed of late.

Same again, our app was received in September, we had the request for new photos in February and ECAS still say application received / medicals received. We're heading back to Canada next Thursday and I'm planning to enter on Dual Intent and just hopefully have a good long summer holiday I guess

Us too. IT'S SO FRUSTRATING ! ! !

Application received 1 October. Ottawa processing. Tickets are booked for 16 July (one way tickets I may add) and the house sale is going through. Our buyers knew categorically that we could complete on or after 16 July but not before.

The plan at present is to book a refundable one way return to the UK for my husband to ensure that he is allowed to board at Gatwick as I don't foresee any real problems in entering Canada with dual intent.

What's really galling is that Mississauga applications RECEIVED IN MARCH 2015have been approved! It's ridiculous.

Yes, those Mississauga apps are particularly irritating. How did you every manage one-way tickets that were actually cheaper that return??

Good luck with your trip!
I guess the lot of us will be going over with dual intent as well. What else is there to do? The last thing anyone wants to do is move to Canada in the middle of winter.

If you go with the spreadsheet then you guys are pretty much bang on to hear in the next month or so right ? About 2 months for stage one + 6 odd for stage two. Well I hope I'm right!

Look at how many apps from May 2014 are still outstanding...
