re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland
Hi Divvym1,
I think this is what I will have to apply for shortly. Was is straight forward? My IEC finishes on the 30th June, I am just about to send my Passport photos off to Ottawa but expect the IEC to finish before the Visa is issued.

Just wanted to give you guys an update. I landed on Sunday at Rainbow Bridge in Niagara. The CBSA officer noticed two errors on my COPR which I hadn't noticed. They were on the "Last date of entry" and "First date of entry" parts which both had the same date in 2012. The CBSA officer told me the dates he had on his system (which were the correct dates) and I confirmed those with him. He hand wrote the correct dates on my COPR and asked me to initial them when I signed the document.
I know that when you get the COPR it says that if you spot any errors to send it back, so maybe it's at the discretion of the CBSA officer as to whether they'll take a COPR with errors or not. I still don't think I'd advise showing up with a COPR with errors (I genuinely hadn't noticed them) just in case they don't accept it or something. It's probably best to contact the call centre or send off a case specific enquiry.
Even so, showing up early on a Sunday morning of a long weekend still meant I had to wait about an hour and a half to get the COPR all processed.

That way at least you are covered and you stay within status.

You *should* have COPR by then... wait until maybe 25 June or so then apply online for a change of status to Visitor. You'll be on implied status as a visitor from 1 July onwards as long as CIC receives your application on or before 30 June. You should have the decision, should you need it, within a few weeks.
That way at least you are covered and you stay within status.

Landed last night in Calgary airport after a weekend away in Santa Monica. Painless process, got my SIN number today from the Harry Hays building and will look at getting my health care sin number updated this week.
Long road (maybe not as long as others here) for me, been looking at moving here with the missus since the summer of 2012 so nearly three years. Would of been much harder without this forum!

Its staggering that although CIC have had all required information / pymts by end of Dec 2014 that they have scheduled a review of the file for 6 1/2 months hence [July 2104]. How long can it really take to do background checks ??? My application is as straight forward as it gets... no previous marriages, no dependents, only two jobs spanning the last 10 years and only two prior addresses etc....

Just mailed in our application for sponsorship of my Irish partner yesterday - will update when we get the 'received' message for the spreadsheet. Hoping for a quick turnaround as his IEC work permit ends May 2016.
