Re: IEC 2015
Don't quote me 100% but these are the things i remember filling:
stage 1.
full name (as appears on your passport)
dob
place and country of birth
gender
nationality
passport number, expiry date
address, tel, email
marital status
attach scan of your passport (pdf or jpeg)
attach copy of your CV (pdf or word) - it has to be done in a specific way (template provided on the CIC/IEC website)
then it's a waiting game for CAL.
2nd stage
you get your CAL (conditional acceptance letter) in your IEC account
I had 10 days to pay 150 CAD
create CIC account to complete your application. Once created you have 60 days to complete the multitude of forms (it was in my case)
attach cv
attach passport
attach police check
attach imm1295- work permit form
attach travel history form
attach family detail form
attach CAL
You then wait for POE port of entry letter (which is issued by CIC that allows you to work). This could take up to 42 days to get a response. My POE came in 1 month.
I am now looking for insurance company.... so that's the limit of my previous experience with IEC
Hope this is useful

That's great information.
I will get things ready in advance and hopefully shave dire seconds providing they give a warning so that I am able to be there at "launch".
So are you in Canada now? May I ask what you're circumstances are for going, or what you hope to gain from going there?
I want to go there, but literally have no idea what I will do, I want a big life adventure & I am hoping to have a lot of self discovery because I am 25, a Graduate in Accounting and cannot stand it, nor the idea of working 40 hours a week until I am 70+ in this field especially.
I personally want to change my entire perspective on life, and break the fearful way of thinking, i.e. worrying about not having done such & such by such an age, or worrying about wasting my youth.
IDK, I have psychological things I hope I can break out there, whether I will, who the hell knows, but 25 is still young, or so I am told... lol
Anyway, I'd be interested to know what is driving some others to this program, whether they be younger, single want to be wanderers like me with no clue, or established couples scoping out a future for themselves or kids etc.

Re: IEC 2015
Quick question, did you meet your spouse while you were on your first IEC program? in the last 12 months? If you are expecting PR within a year, isn't that a superfast way of getting it?
I know that you cannot "force" real relationships, but it's certainly something I will be looking at if I get there.

PR through family sponsorship (spouse) outland (UK) is indeed one of the quicker ways to getting it. The paperwork was far from easy though - 400 pages of relationship proof >_<
There is a couple spreadsheets tracking people's various immigration processes so you get an accurate real-time feed on processing times for the various methods.
I'd say IEC is perfect for you, if you don't mind a brutal but beautiful winter. I can say here in Alberta they love the accent, is open to foreigners for the most part as opposed to what you're probably used to in the UK, and the work is very available. I think even Accounting is on the list of needed vocations....?? You could even get a job offer before landing!

No I met her in Mexico on a holiday I went solo for the same reason as you - young and free and wanting a little adventure and to see a new part of the world for mind-opening. Just happened to fall in love, tried long-distance for a year and decided to just go for it. I've been here for IEC for 1 year which expired Sunday.

While Accountancy work does not make me smile at all, I am unsure whether it is purely the work or the location & situation of my current life. I live with grandparents, in a very small UK town in the north west, so there is nothing to do at all. I love to meet people of different cultures & venture out and gain new perspective & 70+ year olds watching coronation street do not exactly fit the bill so I spend pretty much all my non work time gaming because it's something I love & am extremely good at.
I really want to do the IEC, even though it seems a huge risk, but I feel as though I need that self discovery & as you said, mind-opening.
Part of me hopes I will find work over there which I never expected to enjoy, & not be stuck in an Accounting cubicle! Or that my drive to live stream allows me to have a good funding hobby and make money from that

Re: IEC 2015
IMM1295e work permit form (updated from last year)
IMM5707e family info form (If you're 18 or a minor and from Argentina, Brazil, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, or South Africa). This is replaced with... IMM5645e family info form
Feel free to look these up and pre-fill them but please double check you need these when it finally opens AND that the dates on the bottom of the form is the latest version as when it opens, too (they might update the forms to coincide for IEC opening dates)

Last year I only dated everything and didn't sign. I clicked validate wherever it was available, though, after finishing the whole form.

Thanks! I did just find the form, and there is a space for a signature? So you just left it rather than printing it and then signing it and scanning it back in?

They might be different this year or for other people, mind you!
This year they might change the entire process so be warned.

I am happy where i am working but i need a change in my life, see if the grass is greener on the other side. There has to be more to life than work, pub, work some more and more work and pub. It's just not feasible to live in UK (have a house/flat, car) and start adult life. I am 30yrs old and haven't got much time left to establish myself, otherwise before you know it it all over. Relationship is not going so well either
I currently work as HR software functional specialist (design HR systems, test and data migrate). I am in discussion with my organisation if i can transfer my job for 1 year. I know it's not that adventures, but at least i will have steady income whilst i am there and asses if Canada is for me or not. If it is for me happy days, will do everything in my power to stay, if not try my luck in USA (not that keen), but one has to try to find one's Shangri-La.
this is ideal time for me because i am unattached

I am wondering if this is going to be of any use to put together for people to follow?
<snip>
Nobody can edit things unless I add them, but you can all comment on the various cards to suggest edits.
Yes/No?
EDIT: I've already sunk an hour in to this without knowing if people will find use in it. I won't do any more to this until I receive feedback

Re: IEC 2015
My primary motivation is my desire for a change of scenery. I have been in education and work or both for the past 15 years. I have a diploma, degree and 2 masters (these days most ppl know have the same, so doesn't mean much) and various certificates, i spent close to 80k in student fees..etc. I am only earning 35k for all this effort so not very happy overall.

Re: IEC 2015
Here they place a HUUUUUUUUGE emphasis on education, I can't even begin to tell you. I have SO much IT experience but just a local college diploma and I'm treated like a useless oik-pleb at interviews. So I now work security. Ha!

David3627, I'm sorry but I've had to remove your links. You can't link to your own site/group in posts even if it's not a business as per Site Rule 9.
You can include a link in your sig though.
Thx.
