It wouldn't hurt to bring the Russian folks in. It may even be that someone their end starts a similar action to the poll and collation of information here. Then the Goa Govt will have a two pronged campaign to contend with against their criminal behaviour in respect of FNs buying property.

Dread - thinking ahead maybe

I would be happy to support and assist if it were possible to contact anyone in Russia although my time is limited and my Russian non existent. My guess is that any Russian who has purchased in Goa would probably have a good grasp of spoken English. As the common language in Goa is Hindi and English there cannot be that many Goan builders/advocates who can speak Russian. Vikram Varma is well connected in Russian/Goan circles but can he speak Russian?
As Del Boy would say 'He who dares wins'!

M,
Is there an English language site in Russia ?
If there is, could you put details here?

Regards,
Davie.

I would like to wish everybody on the Goa Forum site a Merry Christmas from all those who have worked behind the scenes on the Save Goa Poll in raising the awareness and the contributors in submitting their horror stories whilst purchasing property in Goa! It would be great if we could hit the 50 mark on the Save Goa Poll before the end of this year!
Cheers

Try your best to enjoy the Christmas holiday poppetjay, especially for the children.
It will soon be a new year and maybe the Goan authorities will stop shooting themselves in the foot and their people in the wallet.
I'm off to Specsavers now!
Merry Christmas

Hi Mainwaring and all,

I have just logged in to the indostan.ru forum ( thanks Mainwaring )and there is a South India/Goa section with posts/threads, has anyone found a property post yet ? I have trawled back a few pages but not found one as of yet, however I am seeing a friend later on today who is married to a Russian girl so I will ask her if this is the best site to use and maybe join ,incidentally they are off to Goa next week for the first time, it will be interesting to see their take on things from a "mixed" viewpoint

Nice to see that the poll has topped the 50 mark - great stuff.
This is going in the right direction - keep spreading the word and getting people to vote and send their stories to Lewis.

Happy New Year - let's hope if we can keep getting people to fight togetehr, then 2010 could be a year for justice.

Dread - looking forward

Excellent to see the Poll at long last hit the 50 mark. Have just come back from Goa and there was a lot of people in the South that have never heard of British Expats but have the same property issues as us.I think If people are out in Goa the secret to moving the Poll on is to inform people about BE first .
There will be a lot of people attending this meeting on the 21st January in Panjim, this seemed to be the general topic of discussion in the south along with the visa 2 month restriction.
This is equally Important that people attend this meeting if they out in Goa.There will be a good attendance from the South with mini buses and transport already organised and at the ready once the venue is know

I will take this opportunity to wish all my friend on BE a very happy and prosperous New year May your trouble be little ones in 2010
GC
