An interesting take on things, especially with most of the people on here having severe property problems in Goa through being ripped off.

I do not belive not moaning or bigoted nor am I lazy, though I am overweight! I have worked hard for everything I have and I come from a working class family who have all worked hard all their lives but I do object to our government paying out thousands to people who have never contributed regardless of their race or religion. To suggest that Expats are fat, lazy, moaning and bigoted would seem to me to be a bigoted statement.

I would agree with every word you have said but as this is a forum related to Goa/India, it would be perhaps be putting things into perspective to admit that all statistics show the majority of Indian migrants to the UK are not on key benefits and do not live in social housing and also work hard. I say this as the topic seems to come up quite frequently and may give the wrong impression and lead to such extreem posts as the one you have replied to.

Friends, this gentleman specialises in brief, provocative posts without a hint of humour. Not sure where acidic member ends and troll begins, but dont let him wind you up.
If you need further confirmation, read back over his posts...

A Goan family i knew moved to the UK, on the Portugese rule.
After 2 years they returned to Goa on holiday.
I met them, husband, wife, 2 kids, spoke to them about
the UK, they said everything so costly, the house they rent
£800 per month, i asked how can you afford this???,
OH NO, GOVERMENT PAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I know a Goan who came to the UK recently on a Portuguese passport, he has never been to Portugal. He is a good hardworking honest respectable person who thought he (and his family eventually) would have a better life here and despite being told that people over here in general are not as well off as they seem when in Goa on holiday, came to live here. He has now got a National Insurance number and is applying for jobs but in the mean time he is receiving social security without ever having contributed tax or national insurance. If he can not get a job he will go on receiving benefit and as he is not far off 65 he will probably get the full basic pension when he reaches 65. I on the other hand contributed all my working life but do not get the full pension because for a few years I paid the reduced married womans national insurance contribution and you can not buy those years back.

Totally agree with you, it is so unfair. I am in the same position as you.
This is what annoys people with the immigrant issue. We go to Goa put money into their economy, ripped off right left and center.
We ask for nothing from the Goan Government just fair play.

Lucky sods,

You are right, they are lucky but it is the British system and membership of the EU that is at fault and not the people who legally take advantage of it. Membership of the EU does not just cost us the hugh sums we pay in every year, it also costs us in all the social benefits which other EU countries do not provide. Sorry bit off thread.

Most of the people who 'legally take advantage of it' are scroungers and it's the likes of me and the rest of the British work force who work to pay for them! But I suppose it's a matter of pride.

The point is that as long as they follow the rules and dont claim for things they are not entitled to under the systems rules it is legal. It is the whole benefits system that is wrong and needs drastic revision.
