They are going about it in the way that WILL drive even more tourists away by cramming more shacks and sun beds of the sand area. European people do not rate this at all by cluttering of the beaches area This is for poor cheap resorts. This is the last thing that the Western Tourist wants. This is considered a big "Turn Off". PLEASE DO NOT ADD MORE SHACKS TO CAUSE "CLUTTER." THIS IS UNNESSARY. IT WILL WORK AGAINST YOU AND TOURISTS WILL WALK AWAY FOREVER. Sunglow. |
It just gets worse & worse. . . . . . . . .
Ten people, including six women and two children, have been found dead in suspicious circumstances (read murders for me & everyone else who is resident of planet earth - H) over the last three days. Superintendent of Police Atmaram Deshpande has said that out of these 10 unnatural deaths – including a couple found drowned in Pernem taluka and a man, a woman a boy and a girl found floating in the Ourem Creek in Panjim – the four incidents involving women whose bodies have been burnt are suspected murders.
http://www.oheraldo.in/pagedetails.asp?nid=28613&cid=15 Today, there appears to be news that 63 Russians must have gone missing in or around Dabolim Airport: http://www.navhindtimes.in/news/goa-...g-377-russians The chartered season in the state kicked off on Wednesday with the arrival of 377 Russian tourists. http://www.oheraldo.in/pagedetails.asp?nid=28647&cid=2 The charter tourism season kicked off Wednesday, when about 314 passengers from different parts of Russia arrived by the chartered flights, Nordwind Airlines and Oren Airlines, at Dabolim airport early Wednesday morning. How can this be? Left hand  - Right Hand  I'm glad there are 'no brewery tours' in Goa, because none of us would be drunk. . . . . . . . . . H. |

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
The 'murders', ten bodies found in three days story has reached the UK press. It was in the printed edition of The Herald (Glasgow) yesterday, but can't find it on the online edition.
Three column article in World News pages, headline :Four arrested as tourist state of Goa is hit by series of murders Article ends with quote from Superintendent of Police, Mr. Atmaram Deshpande "All cases are in isolation and have nothing to do with safety as far as the state is concerned" There they go again sweeping things under the carpet, protecting the so valuable tourism industry. Ten corpses in two days in a tiny State with less of a poulation than the average UK city, and they see no cause for alarm! Goa is safe! In UK this would involve a national news warning regards the safety of women and children, with National Crime Squad drafted in to conduct a major investigation, but then we all know how cheap life and the loss of it is in Goa. Wonder what the Thomson reps (sorry, 'Goa experts) on T Advisor are making of it? |

Em, that bomb blast was literally 100 yds from Alison and Martin's place. Have just recieved word that they are OK, was worried as they have a tendency to go and join in with passing festivities. |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
When two million children die every year, corruption is rife and business is booming, you can see where India's, priorities lie! A few deaths in Goa pales into insignificance (1.2 on the Richter Scale) I think!!! Happy Days:ohmy:

If they take their rose coloured specs off long enough to read it they won't believe it anyway - nothing like this happens in their happy happy land.;) |

Holiday Troofs removed Poipleshadows initial posting about it and then re-instated it. What is it with these people? You can slag of Britain to your hearts content but what ever you do, no bad things about Goa? Do they really want the first-timers (both of them) to arrive unaware of the dangers? Even Inspector Barnaby would bring back-up............ |

People must now be realising that things are not what they seem out there. |

People must now be realising that things are not what they seem out there. Do you think an ad in travel agent's window along the lines of; "Pay nearly a grand a head for a fortnights holiday at a sub-standard hotel in a dirty smelly sh*thole of a country and pay through the nose for everything" would attract many takers? no, not me either. Even on the "I love Goa" sites, it seems the majority are travelling independantly and not using the servces of drivel agents.......... |

[QUOTE=johnny five;8024288]We have a thing in the UK called the "Trades Descriptions Act" which tries to ensure that goods for sale are described accurately.
