full marks for having the cojones to say it though - I've never before heard anyone in India even try to argue the case for soft drugs.
AndyD 8-)# Government run 'bhang' shops are still prevalent in certain States of India, and an intoxicating 'bhang lassi' makes a pleasant mood diversion for many, easily available if you simply ask and not, in my understanding, illegal. Dr Tim Leary and Baba Ram Dass (Richard Alpert) made the case very publicly for the use of psychotropics as holy sacrements, other psychologists and psychoanalysts today are conducting research (under licence) into the potentially positive therapeutic value of the use of varying dosages of MDMA (ecstacy) and Lysergic Acid Diethylamide 25 (acid/LSD). Albert Hoffman, who first synthesized LSD referred to it as 'medicine for the soul'. Arguing your case with the cops, having been busted, takes some front but as you say at least he had the balls to do so. Whether you believe he was right or not is another matter. |

This is confusing as I read yesterday that Dimitry Medvedev (probably spelt wrong) - the Russian president (& Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's puppet) has said that the Russian economy will contract by 7.5% in 2009 - which is a big amount. If the Rouble has devalued as well & the Russian stock market has had large falls, where are all this increased number of Russians getting their money from to make what even for them cannot be an inexpensive trip to Goa.
H. Unless it is black money they are booking their flights and spending in Goa:confused GC |

Hello Not sure about the 'therapeutic value' of the LSD taken by the two people whose mangled body parts I had to collect from the road after they thought they could fly from the eighth floor of a mulit story car park ! Re: In To-day's Newspapers
These new murders are not going to do Goa' tourist industry any good at all, and I honestly beleive they the "goan government " forget there is a great big "media world " out there called the internet and go around with blinkers on all the time.
People that have been to Goa know that the police are as much use as " a chocolate fireguard" come on they cant even control the traffic, let alone investigate one murder, but 10 really pushing their limitations. I get the impression just because its local people that have been murdered they dont count and people are going to turn their backs on this news Dont think so....... |
