Thank you kind sir - was taken in my kitchen - chewmeric is not there but turmeric is ;)
J5 and us hate all these TV chefs who think they can cook Indian and say all wrong names for the spices. Chewmeric is our dreaded saying ;) Not that I profess to know anything, but I thought the word was pronounced "tourmeric" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . H. |

You have been watching too many of these pretend TV chefs. Madhur Jaffrey is the only person who says it correctly. :thumbup:Say after me - Turrrrrrrrrrrrrmeric |

This was one of his recipes last week: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/da...nd_92456.shtml - going to try it on some suitable dinner guests, using some Asda "finest" lobsters that were £3 each! H. |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Read Saturday Kitchen and BBC Food websites every day, Like Simon Rimmer recipes but "Something for the Weekend" was getting a bit dire just as we left.

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Yep, we like Simon Rimmer's recipes too - one was for some 'stuffed beef tomatoes' - pain the a**e to make but they were extremely good when done - he also had what turned out to be a very good curry recipe a couple of months back - plenty Turrrrrmeric in that too as I remember.
H. P.S. - sorry madam mod, off topic I've just realised - no more 'food' related posts on here. . . . . . |
