I'm gonna be a bit contraversial here.... :o How many Brits are employed abroad by foreign companies ?
If the Brits employed abroad were all expelled I think we would be suffering more than we are now with unemployment levels

It's a fair point - I just think things like this must be on a level playing field reciprocal arrangement basis thats all. Brits working abroad are there because they have the required specialist skills, for the lifestyle/weather, to escape rip-off Britain OR for the tax free salary - in the latter case they probably ain't contributing a whole lot to the UK economy by not paying taxes here & not spending their disposable income here OR they could be sending money home to family each month, we can't be certain.

What is certain is that Brits moved to Spain are coming back in their droves (according to the printed media) because 'living the dream' on the Costa Packet has turned sour due to, amongst other things, the collapse of the property market for UK buyers in Spain. Similarly, the printed media tells us Poles etc are returning to their native countries due to their either being no work in the UK or there is work but the salaries don't match up with the cost of living - unless you are prepared to live 12 to a room in a 2 up 2 down!

A worrying situation all round.

Vaz writes to his letter to the public

Since January 2009, my offices have taken up 340 constituent cases and answered 471 calls. Weekly, my staff responds to 400 letters and emails. Since the beginning of May alone, I have attended over 20 meetings and spoken in the House 11 times. It is a very busy office.

WELL HE DIDN'T TAKE UP MY CASE WHEN I WROTE TO HIM ABOUT THE PROPERTY SCAM IN GOA. IN FACT HE DIDN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE MY LETTER

maybe because you're not his constituent? - MP's aren't allowed to act for non-constituents, you should contact your own MP and they will contact any other MP or minister involved in the matter.

Morning All ( Up early Remy ?)

Interesting article in the Goan voice on rubbish in Goa as below, suggest you read it and there is a voting button at the bottom to "vote it up"

"Russian tourists raise stink over garbage in Goa
22 May: Digital Journal. By Armstrong Vaz… Eighty percent of Goan tourists are from elsewhere in India; but the twenty percent who come from western cultures are more than familiar with Reducing, Re-using and Recycling… on Goan beaches and in hotels and restaurants, it’s hard enough finding a garbage bin, let alone a blue or green recycling one…
more details.."

My constituent MP and other have been contacted Andy and she very kindly took my letter up with Lord Malloch Brown.I had a very nice letter back from the house of Commons signed by him stating he knows what is going on in Goa.He has taken it up with the India Government, and said the unscrupulous builders and advocates in Goa have duped the Brits but they cannot take individual cases but to get a good lawyer out of Goa.(Not a lot of help granted)

I have also written to others and David Milband all have replied with the exception of Vaz
We haven't been idle on this matter Andy I assure you

In Sunday's Newspaper

If the MP's expenses scandal grates on all of you like it does on me, this won't gladden your heart one bit:

From the Homes section of the Sunday Times on 24/05/09

Keith Vaz(oline) went to the same establishment (John Lewis) to source his 22 cushions - 17 of them silk - for £480, plus a pair of leather armchairs and a foot stool for £2,614

A total & utter disgrace - but at least KV is consistant - consistantly a sh**house!
