In To-day's Newspapers

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Your subjective because of your experiences around child abuse.Im being objective because i can see it without personal pain becoming involved. The whole matter is now rapidly becoming something of a farce fed by Red Top animosity towards the BBC and fear of what The Levenson Equiry will recommend. Its names out of hat now. What next the Test Card stared at me and i felt abused ? Lets see how many stand in the dock because the CPS are going to have prosecute and as Freddy Starr said its just my word against hers in the end.Can you imagine what a defence QC will make of some of the witnesses ? Mince meat.

Russians felt so much "at home" at Morjim and had become so overbearing, dominating and unmindful of native cultural sentiments that they had put up Russian signs at various spots in the village. That made villagers who had lived at Morjim for generations feel like strangers. But last week, the Morjim Gram Sabha passed a resolution to remove Russian signboards, which was a demand put forth by many locals

He further said that the state was already fighting the menace of prostitution and setting up of the club would compound the miseries of the state.

According to today's paper the control freaks at MHA have now moved on to try and stuff up pre-paid SIMs for Indians as well as foreigners, cellphone operators will now no longer be allowed to sell pre-authorised Sims (as I pointed out elsewhere these are the ones that work for 5 or 6 days until the operator decides he doesn't like your address &c.). From now on they will have to validate their customers including a visit to validate address BEFORE your SIM works!! Wonder how much of the tourists' 3-month limit will be left after that?
Trouble is that cellphones snuck up on GoI when they weren't really looking and now they find they can't control them (and didn't get a big enough cut out of all that money), which is blowing their pointy minds - they say they could be used by crooks and terrorists (like landline phones can't? - and half of GoI aren't crooks themselves?).

Like most things in Goa, you get to hear about them once they're over!!
There was talk of Carlos Santana (of Black Magic Woman fame) performing in Candolim in the New Year - wonder if that's all hearsay????
