Did the trading standards understand this particular issue though (without investigating a complaint)? The agency is not selling visas but merely handling money on behalf of the Consulate. I thought this was the main reason, rather than that no-one was prepared to lodge a complaint due to fear of retaliation? . |

Fleecing the Goan customer. By Frederick Noronha
16 Mar: Herald. ... Why do customers have to walk with fear anytime they approach anyone for a service or some product? Whether it is our cobblers, our taxis and motorcycle ‘pilots’, our retailers, or our doctors — chances are that the buyer in Goa ends up badly overcharged, and feeling cheated. Goa has long been known to have higher inflation levels than much of the rest of India. But this made only worse due to the attitude of overcharging customers here. ‘Catch one customer, hit him hard. It doesn’t matter if he never returns.’ 11-year-old raped on Goa beach 16 Mar: PTI. An eleven-year-old girl was allegedly raped at South Goa's Colva beach, police said on Wednesday... the minor was waiting for a bus along with her elder sister when the accused lured both to the beach for a stroll... The girl told the police that her elder sister went away with her friend for a while, following which the accused assaulted her sexually on the beach. My first thought on reading about the helipads was that it was a joke! Any tourist with their own helicopter can afford their own helipad but then I realise, it is probably not really for tourism. The helipads will be built in places where people like D. K. find them to be most useful then they will spend some of the budget on helicopters to ferry the mp's around so they can avoid the traffic. There is plenty of space on the beach they could cordon off for helicopters to land and take off if they want to sell flights to tourists.
