Do you think that for the FN's who write to the Herald they give their names to the embassy to stop them getting in to India. If it is a letter that disagrees with them or may offend them. I have seen this attitude in words but I wonder if they'd act on it?

No, I don;t think so.

Dear Ex-patriots,
This is a bit rood! This isnt what we do to our mamas here isnt it? We keep this for the foreigners and do it at every opportunity. But also is good for underage foreign grils if papa is minister........no, silly-billy, guvment type, church ones too busy with choir-boyz innit?
What to do? Mama non-happy, Papa non-existant (is this why I am silly b**tard, innit?), revenge good but though, in UK,, dogs not allowed in Indian restaurants, next ban Brits too then like Goa? Too menny naff-caffs and no-won innem, innit?
Wood like to say more but, like all good Indian workers, Musnt do two much or nothing left for next day!!

Love (nuffing physical of coarse)

No topless on the beach yet, but plenty of willies on display on the roadside
in our country that would be indecent exposure.

All is all it has grown on me once again!

I think its important to keep a sense of balance here, so here is a letter from todays Herald.

Brits help Goa
Jenny Pacheco, Tourist Guide
I write in response to Geoffrey Pond's letter. This is the first time I have been so moved as to actually want to write to the Herald to tell Mr Pond and others in his position that Goa is a better place because of you Brits. For every negative voice you have heard, there are ten thousand that are positive. Thousands earn their daily bread because of you. It is a give-and-take situation. I would like to apologise to you for any rude behaviour that you have encountered and wish we could all develop a healthy respect for one another.
Apart from keeping a sense of balance, with any luck it will p**s Milwart off!:eek:

This lady writes in respond to Geoffrey Pond's letter. which I somehow missed.
She says she was moved to write to the Herald with regard to the Brit Bashing and that Goa is a better place because of us Brits. For every negative voice there are ten thousand that are for us. Thousands earn their daily bread from us and we should all give and take.

At last a voice in our corner.

Thank you Jenny Pacheco.

p.s. sorry Johnny five I have just seen you have seen the letter.

Take all you read with a pinch of salt -enjoy the sun, sea, and stink.
Mr. Troll puts a smile on my face.

But would seriously like his view on the Vintage Hospital. Went there to-day going to have a medical MOT, but came straight out the door. It was awful.

Well :eek:spotted.

In to-days herald there is a letter from a local supporting tourists, and another supporting Bryan D'sousa.

What really annoyed me was the article on page one of Herald

RUSSIANS ARE COMING BUT WANT VALUE FOR MONEY - they don't want to bargain but want value for money - Don't we all.
Goa is lacking in facilities they DEMAND more 4/5 star hotels and better roads. The menace of lamanis and beggers has to be dealt with seriously as russian tourists dessent being disturbed or irritated on the beachs etc. etc.

What does our Government Demand for us - sweet ....... all.

p.s.
having trouble getting onto this site and reading pm's/:curse:

River gypsy - we are taking the tablets you have and the chemist here still recommends.

Spoke to Janis (Remy's) other half last night - all is well but he is working all hours hopes to be here middle December. Sorry Mitzy for being off topic:wub:

Noni - this is the first time I have been able to reply on the forum for about 10days - using Airtel mobile.
(If I don't get cut off in the next few minutes as has often happened).

New bus fare hike - 5rps for first 4kms and 45paise for every km after or 5rps for first 3kms and 45paise for every km after. Don't know where they will get the 55paise change from!!!

Glad to see that there a som Goans who don't mind us.

actually, in diplomatic speak, a 'we have made it clear' fom the FCO is at least as strong as a 'demand' from the Russian Consul.

I am sure Noni would rather hear the word DEMAND sounds more forceful.

What is the red lifeguard jeep supposed to do on Candolim Beach?:confused:
