Good link. Surely someone from the government with even half a brain must see the irrepairable damage this is doing to Indias reputation and tourist industry. Even if there is,do they care?

For years and years Spain has been demolishing ExPats houses, legal or illegal, and now have evoked an old law saying that properties 200 or 500 mtrs (depending on who you believe) from the coastline are illegal. There is now a tremendous downturn in one of their main income streams .... property and building. Yet the Government still haven't realised that their policies are scaring buyers away and destroying the industry. Meanwhile the economy is in tatters now and unemployment is rocketing. The demolitions continue. Some Governments just don't get it!

When the media is quoting Spanish unemployment at 19%, you might think the government might just see the direct correlation between rocketing unemployment & a construction industry in freefall. . . . . . . .

In addition, we all know what governments are likely to do with unemployment figures & that is to under-estimate them, so in reality, the situation is probably a whole lot worse!

I'm reasonably sure that,as far as Goa is concerned, these recent clampdowns are more popularist than anything. They are also being used to deflect attention away from the numerous corruption charges being levelled at local MLA's. What I am really surprised at is the apparent inaction of the local businesses, whether they be hoteliers, resteraunteurs, bar owners, shack owners, taxi drivers, fishermen etc etc. Surely they are being impacted more than anyone. If I was in their position I would be creating like hell. There is of course the other possible motive of foreign run businesses being grabbed when the proprietors are finally refused re-entry. I know of at least one case where this has happened, but concerning an apartment. The owners were refused a visa a couple of years back and had no luck pleading their case for a short visit to sell their property. There is now a local family nicely ensconsed in it. Rumour has it that they are closely related to one of the local politicians/thugs but I have no details

To-day I am so annoyed at the dirty, perverted indian men on the beach.
Sunday always is a bad day, but to-day shack owners had to come down and send them away. There were a few instances of groups of men walking between the sunbeds and then signalling their friends if they found a "tottie" like every weekend they are about 40 year olds - frustrated men. Tomorrow being Holi we all think we will take our electric mossie bats with us. But i expect they are all from out of state.
Wonder what Sanjay and Oddjob have to say about them!

What an un-believable arse.............rapes and murders are small incidendents!

If this is what the "invisible CM" has to say when he eventually does so, maybe he should keep his idiotic, corrupt gob shut?

And yet more abuse being heaped on the Ruskies (saviours of Goa until a couple of weeks back!)

It would be silly if it wasnt spilling out of the uneducated, bigotted, mouth of Shri S.Naik (in the grass) who deems fit to blame rape and murder victims for being responsible for the crimes...................

More b*ll*cks from the mad MP. If he had one more braincell he would be a turnip.

Dead right there Dread - they must all have walked from Baga to Candolim.

Got two better stories - one an Indian walking along nude except for holding a hankie (admitted a very small one over his ) when the police were collecting their dibbie money, Mr. Policeman went after him opened Indians bag, we thought he was looking for drugs and got his shorts out and made him put them on.

Danish couple - Russian went up to topless wife, and stood and took photo, husband told him off, right row. He rude B****** being thick and ignorant, came back the next day and TOLD THE wife to take her top off as he wanted another photo. Big row - Russians lights went out as he hit the sand.

My friend and I experienced the same thing yesterday on calangute beach, droves of indians walking along in their baggy underwear, which should be banned from the beaches as its obscene to say the least pass the bucket Dread, .... taking photos of women laying quietly sunbathing with their mobile phones, sitting outside the shacks again watching the women on the sunbeds and rubbing thesleves and not doing it discrectly, my god they have TV, internet now surely they arent that sexually surpressed they have to mastabate infront of everyone, and mean while the police are harrassing the poor little beach sellers( even though they are to a pain in the a....) for their hard earned cash...something very wrong here....

Yo Milwart - J5 has unlocked the cupboard and let you out !

Of course the minister is talking boxxocks - only to be expected from a man whose brains are in his axse !!
As for all his bragging about the police acting quickly regarding crimes against foreigners, it is absolutely not the case. In fact this week a known violent shack owning Goan yob from Calangute is still yet to be arrested after breaking in, attempting to rape and seriously assaulting his ex girlfriend. This is fact not rumour as I know the girl and have received several distressed calls from her when he is prowling near her place trying to break in during the night. What have the police done? -absolutley Jack !!!

Still the beach police won't be arresting him as they're too busy collecting their 100 rupees and beating up children on the beach !

Dread - never did like turnips !!

very eloquently put! was trying to find the words you have posted. Dirty buggers. They can't all be out of state indians!
The lifeguard had a job to-day with about 10 drunken ones, trying to get them out of the sea.

Anybody who came for a peep to-day, was covered with 'colours' by the sellers.
