Andy that is rubbish, how come I got numerous replies from other MPs out of my area and a personal letter from Lord Malloch Brown.
It was another MP who suggested we write to VAZ as he is a Goan GC you might be right on all fronts regarding FEMA but your not often right on others issues and your wrong again:rolleyes: MPs have public contact details so their constituents can get in touch. In most cases you can write, phone, fax or email. MPs will generally only act on behalf of their constituents, so please check you are contacting the MP who represents your constituency. see also www.writetothem.com AndyD 8-)# |

There was a list in yesterday's Daily Mail with names and amounts owed. Vaz was stated as having had to repay 1,514.00 (pounds) and in fact repaid 18,949.82 and had nothing left now to repay. It was more than some MP's and less than others. |

6 Feb: Times of India (Crest). By Andrew Pereira. There's big trouble in little Goa. And like the bikini, statistics do not reveal everything on what's exactly going wrong in paradise. .. Any beach in Goa and you will find groups of Indian men ogling at bikini-clad tourists.. Many cases, say those in the know, may be going unreported because of fear of stigma, lack of faith in an inefficient and corrupt police force subservient to local politicians and a woefully slow judicial process. 1878 words.

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
The Glaswegian Goan thinks that he will have a better time in Goa as he will still be under British supervision via The Consulate in Panjim. He will be in for a surprise then because Fort Aguada is scheduled for closure soon. Its going to be a museum dedicated to the Resistance against the Portuguese. Quite a few Goans were hanged in the place . I believe the new Central Jail will be near Ponda. I could be wrong though. The government wants the whole head land for historic tourism complete with hotels and a possible docking quay for a ferry to Vasco Da Gama to feed off the cruise liners that are supposed to be coming soon....goodbye Nerul Creek and my favourite fishing spot near the cross on the bend.

India restaurant bomb blast kills eight in Pune At least eight people have been killed and 33 others wounded in a bomb attack on a restaurant in India's western city of Pune, officials say. The explosion tore through the German Bakery, which is popular with tourists, in Koregaon Park. Maharashtra state officials said the blast was caused by a bomb. The nationalities of the dead are not known. At least four foreigners are among the injured, Maharashtra's home affairs minister said. The explosion at the restaurant, on North Main Road, happened at about 1900 (1330 GMT), when it was packed with diners. "We heard a big noise and we all rushed out. The impact was so much that there were tiny body parts everywhere," Vinod Dhale, who works at the restaurant, told Reuters news agency. Anti-terror squad officers have gone to the scene. "There has been a bomb blast," senior police official Rajendra Sonawane said. "There was an abandoned bag which seems to have contained some IED [improvised explosive device]." Initial reports suggested a gas cylinder had exploded. The German Bakery is near the Osho Ashram, a mystic centre popular with visitors to Pune. |
