Noni, there's nowt wrong with Madeira wine - the red is okay at slightly less than room temperature, the white needs to be cold & drunk cold - it is worth the three quid or so per bottle that is the MRP - what really f**ks me off is when restaurants try & charge Rs600 or 700 for it - UNTIL I remind myself that is exactly what happens in the UK, BUT we don't know what the MRP is in the UK & just have to assume it's around the three or four quid mark.

The current price of a gas bottle is now 412rs.

Everything is going up Jill. Something simple as SAMOSAS - up this week from 5 rupees to 7 rupees - sounds silly to even mention it, but that's nearly a 50% increase. Imagine if everything increased by that %age in a short time frame?

My maid missed her bus last night so it took her an hour to get home.
I can ride the scooter from my place to hers in less than 10 mins.
I asked her why she didn`t take a motorcycle pilot(taxi) ?
Because they are now charging 40 or 50rs!!! She had just earned 125rs for 3 hrs work!

Shack allocation was Monday for north Goa and Tuesday for the south.
There will be the same number of shacks but those that were to be barred because of erosion will need a site inspection to determine exact location.

the shack I sometimes go to applied for 2 licences(cos they think their odds are better) they didn`t get 1. So they are now paying the overly inflated rate to a neighbour who applied for at least 2 and got them. He only wants 1 for himself.
If these stupid people could only see that if they all just applied for 1 licence they would probably all get them

Without going into detail, a certain beach had 23 applications for 8 shacks. I know someone put in 12 applications and got 3. He will use one and give the other 2 to people who are regulars but didn't get one. They pay him the 30000. The other applications he put in is money lost.
