Lightbulb CURRENT PRICES IN GOA.

Members have been saying that we are all going to be shocked by the prices in Goa this season.

I am sure our Members will be pleased to hear details from anybody out in Goa at the present e.g.

Kingfisher, vodka, gin, bread rolls, bread, newspapers, petrol, re-instating your tata sky/dish tv,telephone sims, or anything else you can think of.

Andy if you are there, what about the wholesale price of Kingfisher etc.

Blue Riband Gin is 135rp.

Whats hit my budget is the 50% increase in the price I pay for meat I buy for my dogs!

Guess the locals dogs will just get less food! It was 10rp a packet but now 15rp.
My dogs will still get the same !!!

I really dont understand anyone who buys corn fed meat and thinks it's good quality. Tasteless muck, cows are meant to feed on grass for a reason!

On prices:
Paid Rs. 75 for large KF at Fishermans yesterday and Rs. 65 at Chik & Fish in Calangute today (not been before - not a bad little place and good prices -next to Plantain Leaf). Prices this low it must still be Monsoon Menus.

P.S. BUT Rs. 100 for an autorickshaw back to Candolim (told it would be 150 in a taxi) - these people really p1ss me off - I hope they have a really bad season (can't see the Russians paying it). Anywhere else in India it would be meter fares. The stupid thing is they were all sitting around without any customers, and had been all morning!

Obviously not a farmer Martin - There is an element of Corn in the diets of Most cattle bred for eating. It is acknowledged that the finest beef in the world is Wagyu Beef and it is fed a corn diet as well as beer and daily massages! American corn fed beef is acknowledged as being one of the finest beefs available, excellent taste, incredible marbling and superbly tender. You are however entitled to a view and if it is not to your taste so be it.
Cattle with a high level of grass in there diet are Milkers.

Lovely big red ripe plum tomatoes were just 20rs a kg yesterday.

Plenty of tomato and lentil soup now in the freezer and also the equivalent of 4 tins of cooked tomatoes(thankyou pressure cooker) in the freezer for 40 rs.

Fillet steak or undercut as it is sometimes called is now 250rs a kg.Still seriously cheap compared to the Uk but it does need to be matured before using.
