emmm, if we could just get back on subject:blink:
just got a pm from Flutterfly. she's in UK at the moment, but back in Normandy later this week and would like to come along to the meet up if it's not too far from where they stay - so, any ideas of venue yet.
I'm half way between St Lo and Cherbourg, Novocastrian is about 10 kms from me. I really don't mind driving for a couple of hours - done almost 3000 kms the last 3 weeks, so what's a couple more:lol:

Re: Meet up

Oops! Sorry Val! :o

Right, I reckon somewhere in between Le Mans and Mayenne would be ok. Not too far to drive, decent rail connections for those that need 'em too. If PJ can get to Le Mans from where she is, we can pick her up from there. We'll get in touch with her about all of that mullarkey.

How's that for dynamism? ;)

If you lot ever get around to meeting up it'll be by pure chance that you've all got visitors on the same day

Well I know I'm ok - Only had one visitor (not including family that I've gotta arrange transport for) in last Year so no fear of me having any unexpected guests - ( and as Stu and Syb will be at the meet up - no chance of them just popping by )

There, and I thought being a little bit mad was a prerequisite for writing on the forum. Here is confession time. I've never let on that my face is green with orange spots:mad: All joking apart no-one seems interested in an event here as you all seem within reasonable distance of eachother. I think Septimus is the only one reasonably near here so I think I'll withdraw my offer for a get together here for now. However I will say that I have an art exhibition this month at Thiviers library and another one later in the month and throughout August at Lanouaille mairie. I hope if any of you are passing through you'll pop in. There's stained glass, silk batik, portraits and nudes.
Hope this doesn't count as advertising Val. As you know I am quite mad.:p

Hi Brenda,
I'll be passing through your way mid/late august on the way to UK so may see you then?

Sorry we all seem to be just that bit too far from you, but great news about the art exhibition:thumbsup:
Hope you are going to take some photo's and post them so we can all get to see what you've been up to:eek:

Hello again everyone! Sorry it has taken me so long to get back on the forum and thank you Val for letting me know about the meet up. Carrouges is a very easy drive for me, but it sounds as though I am somewhere in the middle so will be one of the lucky ones!

Look forward to hearing the final decision about the venue and to seeing everyone, are we all going to wear little picture badges so we recognise each other!? :)

Yes I am very sad that you'll all be there without me and thank you for thinking of me. I hope you all have a great time. As to what I've been up to it seems I've been shocking French librarians. (Does that really surprise you?) They like most of my work but my latest piece ,which is a piece of intuitive art, seems to have really aroused strong feelings of aversion and I was really proud of it. It's about generosity and abundance and the heart connection so the response is intriguing to say the least. Guess all artists need to be a bit provocative - should be a good conversation piece! I've never quite sussed getting photos on this website but I'll have another go when I get two seconds.

Glad you got back okay.
Right then - have sent Le Chant a pm but Chateau at Carrouges seems a good place to meet. I've just checked the website again
http://209.85.135.104/search?q=cache...d=7&lr=lang_en
It says it's open from 9.30 am - 12.00 and then 2.00-6.30 pm
They say there is a picnic area, so if the weather is nice we could go there to meet up, but if it's raining we could go into the Chateau, so we have a plan whatever happens.
All we have to do now is agree on a time. Is 1 pm too late? Just thought it would give people chance to get there as the rest of us will have about a 2 hour drive?
Otherwise I don't mind getting there early. I'm easy:rofl:

You and yours are most welcome. If you can put up with my green face and orange spots I'll put up with your posh frocks. :rofl:I'll send you directions by PM.

Re: Meet up

Apart from the fact that the Chateau is closed between 12 and 2  1pm seems fine, lets hope it is not raining!! Shall we bring picnics and rugs etc?
