You can take your buggy right to the gate; last time I took two.
Staff we're very helpful.
Plus they generally board families with young children first.
Useful when trying to sort out all that hand luggage!

Thanks that's good to know. We've pre-booked our seats to make things easier. Was there anything you wish you had or hadn't taken as hand luggage?

More nappies than you could possibly use - we were delayed, so I was cutting fine!
Always a change of clothes; and their special toys and a few wrapped surprizes.
A pillow and blanket and a their favorite snack - mine wont eat the food!
Hope you have a good flight; we will be booking in the next couple of weeks, hoping to premium (one way!) so we get extra baggage.

Thanks for the tip, hope you have a good flight.

I flew with my son a few years ago he was so good for the whole flight but just as we were flying over Heathrow he threw-up all over himself. I managed to get him changed no big deal, then as we were coming in to Land he threw-up again, I had to use the Air Canada blanket to clean him up, very embarrassing.

Zoom 2 for 1 voucher -

we have just got literature from www.uk2novascotia.com - they are giving vouchers away BUT you have to meet with one of their realators to get voucher - so if you are going out property hunting this may be worth while.

Angel,

We did the UK2NovaScotia option when we went house-hunting in May, we met with the Remax realtor who was lovely and spent two full days with us. As we were looking in Annapolis and the realtor didn't want to travel that far, she passed us on to the local Remax realtor and we were still eligible.

UK2Nova Scotia sent me a code and it was 2 for 1 (excluding taxes) - no hassle. Great service! We got £100 off our flights in October with the deal and were very chuffed indeed

One word of warning - coming back to Canada they weigh everything including hand luggage! So if you to buy a tin of Caburys to take back to work - buy it in duty free! So much less hassle then paying GPB6 per kilo in excess....

...eh....Of course I had excess!!! My daughter has been given a large wooden doll's house for Xmas - it took a whole friggin' case!! Let alone the 30 books my son was given from just about every one... however, my real downfall was finding Primark. Goodness the kids clothes are cheap!

Hi Andrea,

We looked all around the Annapolis area, as hubby wanted somewhere with land in the sticks ie. Port Lorne, Mountain Rd, Inglewood (but I got scared when we viewed them as it was sooooo quiet lol)

We looked at Annapolis and Lequile, but tbh I thought they were more pricey than other local areas. We looked at Victoria Beach and that was miles from anywhere with no through road! Then we looked at Digby but it was colder than the valley with the sea breeze. We were told if you go on the south mountain there are lots of ticks in the summer, and the north mountain has bad blackfly in the summer, the valley escapes most of it. (at least I think it was that way round lol)

We ended up buying a house in Bridgetown, which is a community of about 1000 people and everyone has been hugely welcoming. Our agent was Mike Leblanc from Remax Annapolis Valley, recommended by Donna in the Wolfville Remax office - she was the contact from UK2Nova Scotia. He was a fantastic realtor, full of good advice and really friendly. We found the house we loved in May, put an offer in from England at the end of May, did all the paperwork over fax and we were the proud owners in June! No hassle atall. We are just on the outskirts of town but close enough to walk in if necessary. Suits me fine !!

Good luck with your search, if I can help any more let me know
Rachel

I met with one of UK2NS realtors on my reccie. I also met with another as I felt I needed to get the right one for us.

I decided not to go with the one recommended by UK2NS and I have heard nothing about the 2 for 1 offer since.

My understanding was that you only had to meet with them, not agree to go with them. There is nothing to this effect in the small print that I can find.

Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks Rachel - thats really helpful - we have viewed a few house over net in Bridgetown and have to say liked what we saw.

Never know might be neigbours - will def be avoiding any areas with loads of ticks as have 2 dogs and a cat to think about - plus very remote areas as hubby will be away with work a lot so don't want to be too isolated.

Ooh Andrea, let me know which ones you looked at - we might have looked at them ourselves and I could tell you the dogs lol

We were really surprised how different the houses were from the internet representations. The top four we wanted to see were really disappointing, and we ended up buying one we wouldn't even have viewed had the realtor not recommended it - we thought it was right next to another house, but it turned out to be our barn ~(massive old carriage house!!)

My advice woud be, don't take the chance and buy before you see, as someone in Bridgetown did last year, it could be a disaster!
