The swedes are playing well - they had a couple of really good chances, and the score could easily be 2-2 at this point. its great to be able to watch a competitive game of hockey!

I hear that due to the obvious one sidedness of the womens hockey the IOC are considering canning it from future games
Maybe the Canadians should consider conceeding a few late goals in future just so the others will still play them in future.
Dont know how true it is, but it sounds like the sort of gutless decision the IOC would come up with in the name of better TV ratings, which is after all the sole reason for their existence anymore.
De Coubertin would be spining is his grave at the prospect of excluding a sport 'cos one side is obviously better than the rest, whatever happened to playing the game for the sake of the game, and sport being about how you play the game rather than the results?

Yep your right....I think they need to give the european teams a few years to become more experienced and stronger. Today playing sweden was the first type of competition we've had and the score could have been alot close than it was - the swedes played pretty well for a newer team with some good chances to score goals.
In some ways, the womens hockey is more exciting than the mens. I hope there will be an incredible uproar if the IOC does this. Certainly canada should complain.
Why arent there women players in the NHL?

I think there was a female goaly in the OHL once? Or maybe that was something my wife made up when we have our biannual argument about such things.

Give them a few years and they will probably beat the pants off Canada and the States! Sweden played well today!
