It's ok Iain, I'm disembarking here as I'm choo choosing a bottle of wine and the puntastic company of my wife for the rest of the evening where hopefully "All aboard" will have a whole different meaning.

Anna - I too was torn between Canada and Australia. But after speaking to lots of Canadian's online it seems they have way more fun in the winter than we do in the UK. Also - the more I thought about it, the more I'd prefer real seasons.
Apparently, Vancouver can be quite gloomy and rainy in the summer whereas some of the other areas have snow and sunny skies.
One of the biggest deciding factors for us was the distance. Flights to and from Australia are long and expensive.
