Hope this doesn't easily offend; but it took several locals to put me straight. A female colleague was trying to explain her male co-worker had done nothing wholly creative for the first part of the day. It was phrased thus:
"Him? He's been f***ing the dog all morning."
It took several other workers to calmly explain that no puppies were injured.
Further evidence of it's apparent widespread understanding to only Canadians from Snopes.com:

Hey, I just stumbled upon this thread by chance, and i study this kinda thing at Uni, im a British expat out in Australia looking at the differences between English, American, Aus, NZ and South African English. Im looking more at pronunciation, but this is a subject that fascinates me! I actually need Volunteer Research Participants of all ages, who have been here no more than five years, and if British, need to speak RP or 'Standard English' (South of England) I also need Americans (from Western, Midland, Northern and Central Eastern States of America), NZ'ers (North Island) and South Africans.
I hope you dont mind me advertising in your forum, but i just thought it was so amazing to have people talking about my topic on here. If you want more info, i'll give you it, and im based in the Sydney CBD/Eastern Suburbs Area if you want to participate!

Gremmies (Graham's) spelling as entertained us no end in the Trucking section for the last 12 months , I even provided a link to Google spell checker many months ago , But we have all given up now and accept his posts for what they are , Mostly accurate and informative but always amusing
