Vancouver, because it is 6,000 miles from each other's mother-in-law.
The mountains and the sea, the multicultural society, the food and so on might have had something to do with it as well.

Re: What area and why
South Western Ontario. Specifically Guelph.
Why? - No flipping idea but I love the fact that the area is so built up and full of urban sprawl, reminiscent of the Scottish central belt in it's grey, cramped industrialness(?).
I often feel hemmed in by the Great Lakes on either side and dark ominous skies. The lack of wilderness, greenery and general large woody things - trees I think they're called? - can't see them for the mmm, hmmm,........Trees! damn urbanised sprawl. Give me Cumbernauld on a cold January evening any day instead.
Yes Vancouver - lovely city. Full of whatsit called?....hmm...concrete and more of that urban sprawl. Mountains are nice but they block out the view of the hinterland.
Baffin Island may have that 'uninhibited freedom' you're looking for in this 'wee' country.

Vancouver Island, fell in love with the natural beauty of the Island and the laid back attitude of the people. No regrets whatsoever!

Fredericton New Brunswick, beautiful small city.
We wanted a totally different lifestyle after working in Central London for 10 years and doing the daily commuter grind.
I love it here. The girls miss Next and other shopping (my credit card doesnt though )

Well it would be if you could all spell Iqaluit.
Believe it or not, that's where many of our students used to go in springtime. True.
