What area and why
 

we were wondering why people have chosen the city or province they intend to move to or live in...


The OH and I chose BC... We went out three times before we were sure.

We love the mountains and the sea, the job prospects seem to be there in both our fields with a reasonable commute from reasonable priced housing.

Ontario is great but everybody seems to be cramped down in the bottom 5%... and it reminded us to much of home.

Oh yeah, Its all soooooo cramped. A veritable concrete jungle.

"Quinte West", Eastern Ontario.

Cheapish housing (still a few houses for $100k around here)
Moderate for Canada climate
2h to Toronto or Ottawa, a little more to Montreal. Even New York isnt really all that far.
Its where my job is. Luckily its also a really nice community.
Belleville and Trenton are close and large enough to provide employment opportunities, civilisation and facilities, so there is no need to travel further afield unless I really want to.

If it werent for the job it would be Iqualuit for me.

As far north as one can drive in Ontario at the end of the road - came here for the job. After 2 years i'm bugging out and moving to Ottawa - I'll be very sad to leave here, but the call of civilisation ......

We chose Vancouver 'cos of friends and how beautiful it is, but OH job has brought us to Toronto and we are very happy here!:thumbsup:

We chose Calgary as we wanted to be close to a miriad of ski resorts and the mountains. Calgary is booming in our professions and that meant job offers and relocation. We would have also gone to Kelowna, but far less jobs and much less desparate for people! We may still give it ago once we have canadian experience!

Chose it as it was where the job was so it would necessarily cut down on potential travel times ;)
