It is called Soccer officially as in CSA, USSF you can remember your Heritage but do try to remember that the country you've chosen to adopt has a heritage too -- and as a guest here you should really be adaptable.

FOOTBALL is the Shorten name for these and other sports
Association football
Rugby league Football
Rugby union Football
American football
Canadian football
Australian rules football
Gaelic football
Harrow Football
Winchester College Football

So please when referring to your heritage game called "Association Football" please either use the Full name or Soccer for short . Just to be clear which game you are talking about. We don't want to be confusing now do we?

Actually, I think they call it "nogometni".

Similar to the Italian "calcio".

My you do have a lot of time on your hands...........and yet you are still boring me. You are very true in what you say but also Rugby is referred to as Rugby by its fans, with the only clarification being League or Union. Australian Rules Football is referred to as Aussie Rules. Gaelic Football is referred to as Gaelic Football...........I could go on but then I'd be as boring as you.

The simple fact remains that this is a forum for 'British' expats and in Britain its called Football. There are proper Canadian football fans who cringe at the word soccer and there is even a program on Canadian TV called 'The Footy Show'

"calcio" not football is definately what the Croatians play here!

Wiki says: Calcio - The modern version allows tactics such as head-butting, punching, elbowing, and choking, but forbids sucker-punching and kicks to the head

BTW Brownstar Man City fans call it Soccer!

I went to that game Greg (and the replay) although I'd have to say my team played in the best final in recent memory (Charlton Vs Sunderland 4-4 playoffs 1998)
