How else do you demonstrate something to be true, or even reasonably believable, in this medium?

never said my mate, i said a relative. Just because its not written down does not make it true im afraid. Could tell you plenty more but would not be any point as you only believe in the written word. I suppose you believe the statistics given out do you? very sad.

Did you actually read the link? No matter, you have every right to believe whatever you like. For example, I have a friend who knows someone on the inside who says that posters with exactly six letters in their username all have smelly feet. I believe this unreservedly. Why should he lie?

give me a break. do you honestly believe that statistics etc are true? that politicians speak the truth etc.

how about when my parents were trying to get help to claim for benefits after years working due to them both becoming ill in quick succession of each other. My mum calls a local benefit office asking for help filling in the forms as she did not understand how she could answer some questions. They gave her a number, she called it. The rather rude lady there told her she should not have been given the number as it was only there to help those of ethnic minorites that were newly claiming/ had trouble speaking/writing english etc. Parents ended up not claiming all they were entitled to as no one was willing to help them at the offices. Oh and before you ask they were questions even we could not work out how to answer. Did tell them to send the forms in and when they called and asked why some questions not filled in they could possibly explain why. But they gave up instead.

sorry no link so must be unbelievable

you are so mature. I think i might even agree with other posters that think you and other individuals border on internet bullying. sorry no link for that either, but still true

I didn't think you were lying but it's a confused story about a confused person being confounded by bureaucracy while trying to get a hand out. I don't see what it has to do with anything.

Whether it's widely known or not I couldn't say. Certainly I didn't know, but now that you've told me I think its a very good idea to have a helpline especially for folk whose English is a bit wanting. You'll find similar services in most Canadian cities too.

my point about you and certain others exactly. you either try and big yourselfs up as the only ones with valid opinions or try to make others look stupid. IMO. its not a 'confused story' and i just love the way you put my parents down by saying they were trying to get a handout. cheers for that. You must feel so big.

I don't know. Why didn't your parents ask that at the time? And what's all this got to do with this thread anyway?
