The US has unemployment insurance for those who loose their jobs and it tends to be a little easier to get then EI is, and depending on state there may also be temporary disability insurance programs, California is such a state where its available.

1. The average house Price here starts from $600,000.00 for most areas
2. Upscale area in Seattle is $450.000.00
3. Food way cheaper in the US
4. Good public transport system in BC
5. Some public transport system in US, However, they don't like it.

Good transit system in Greater Vancouver, it gets pretty bad once outside metro Vancouver.

Transit in the US will vary greatly city to city just like Canada, people in Edmonton for instance dont use transit in mass like Vancouver.
