Re: Best steak in Toronto
A few years back I went to a restaurant just off Regent Street in LondonLondon. It was, apparently, the only place in the UK serving Argentine beef. Man, it was good.
We had superb filet mignon last night. Costco does sell some really good meat.

I bought 6 pork tenderloins at Costco for $20 at the weekend. Enough to make a pretty substantial pork sword methinks

I had a pretty good Steak at Webber's in Chicago as well. There is a good Chicago steak house chain in Toronto called Morton's which is on Avenue Road just north of Bloor.
There are loads of good vegetarian restaurants in Toronto, Commensal is a good one.

I remember the Allen's somewhere west of the Royal Alex area back about 1985/1986. It was a great place to spend $$ on, at the time, obscure beers otherwise unavailable in Canada. (i.e Chimay, Old Peculier). The Allen's on the Danforth was more of a restaurant. Cafe Brussels was also nice with glasses to match the beer you had ordered. Great food there.
Don't know about their steak though, sorry. (Although the mussels were nice).
