We're going on the Sunday too. We're going to Toronto as we have very good friends there. I can't wait for the show. I'm hoping we'll get lots of information about international movers etc.

Hi Beck - yes the quote thingy worked well - you are getting the hang of this quickly.
You are right you never know who you will meet and I like to make the best of every opportunity. We got a lot out of the shows but I know that they are not everyone's cup of tea. Just go and have fun and treat it as a day out.
We have been in Calgary for just over 3 years now and are loving every minute of it. There have been ups and downs but overall it has definitely been the best move we have ever made and we are looking forward to applying for Canadian citizenship this year.
Where are you thinking of heading to in Canada?
Enjoy the planning process - it is really exciting! J

I am loving all the planning but it's scary. I thought I knew loads till I came on this site! Everyone is so well informed. My hubby is a civil engineer so he's going to update his cv and send it to some Engineering firms in BC to ask their advice on how it looks from an employer perspective and what they can recommend to improve it ie courses and qualifications etc. I'm just frustrated over how long it all takes.
Hope you become a citizen, that would be super exciting!

I agree that the planning is both exciting and scarey. We are trying to get as much information as possible but both of us realise that we'll only really know what it will be like once we're there. When are you thinking of applying? We are sending in the forms at the beginning of September. My hubby's profession is one of the 38 'in demand' professions therefore we should qualify under the SW process. The times are fairly quick for these applications. Do you have kids? We have two 13 and 11 years old and they are as excited as we are about the move. That makes it easier.
