Disagree. I've met many a pretty girl with pretty feet who wear Birkenstocks precisely because they are better than any other sandal
For the record, I don't think everyone should totter around in high heels all the time. In fact, I very seldom wear them myself, now I am no longer working in an office. |

Well, you're not invisible to me. I see things others don't. I also hear voices, but we won't talk about that right now. |

I just think they're so, well, German. Sorry, no offence to Germans or people who wear Birkenstocks for that matter.

They look better than Havaianas, which unless worn at the beach, make you look like a scruffy tramp.

For those of us with bad feet birkenstocks provide welcome relief yet can look pretty. Lots of different styles and colours. I wear crocs for the same reason. I suffer badly with plantar fasciitis which is the only reason I wear these kinds of shoes as they help alleviate the symptoms due to the shape of the shoe.

It was you who told me to buy a pair of crocs for when my feet hurt. I have arthritis in my knees hands and feet and can fully sympathise with the pain of plantar fasciitis. Crocs are the most hideous things ever, but they're certainly comfortable.

How about the opposite and a half of this title? E.G - walking through a shopping centre, or down the street and feeling uneasy, that people are looking at you.
