From your posts I have built up a mental picture:

sandal wearing
very attractive
upper english accent
sleek
with an extraordinary straight back and neck
a long nose
been around the block a bit

Is it Joanna Lumley?

Is it Moira Stewart?

Is it whatsherface who does the cookery programme?

. . . . oh bollocks I give in . . . !

In my opinion, no woman needs high-heels to make her attractive. The exceptions are perhaps with a well cut trouser, or a simpler design with a skirt. The key is style and a purpose, a cut, not tartiness. I've seen women with brown shoes that look old-fashioned but also good with the right skirt.

But clacky heels, worn, causing pronation, with fussy strappings can be a let down. People talk about people being well-heeled - it's no accident.

I have never worn shoes with rubber soles - always leather uppers and soles. Even mucking around, I wear reasonably decent paddock boots. A pair of shoes lasts me 6-10 years. It's the old soldier in me!

Cheers!

Unfortunately my last pair of sandals with leather soles caused me a lot of pain and my husband about SGD30,000 in medical bills, so I'm banned from wearing them :(

I became invisible a few days ago, in more ways than one. I'm still here though.

Possibly 'special needs' but I'll take what I can get.

Its nice to hear someone openly appreciative of their partner, too often people makes jokes about how awful they are.

Well, you're not invisible to me. I see things others don't.

I also hear voices, but we won't talk about that right now.
