I don't drink coffee. I hate being full of beans.

There's Starbucks in Oz?

Won't be tough to boycott GJ. Their coffee is terrible.

Now tell me what JB does that is underhanded and devious?

Most of them in Melbourne & Sydney also closed - except the ones in touristy spots. It largely survived in Qld though.

Considering their poncy cups of coffee are around $5 a pop, warm and fuzzy feelings are secondary requirements ...I'm boycotting the entire coffee shop rip-off industry.

I remember when the old man and I lived in Vancouver in the early 1990s driving 3 hours down to Seattle to try Starbucks. We both took one sip and threw away the rest. 3 hours drive for that crap

I have a SIL who prefers them over Tim's. We think it's nutty. If you're going to drink questionable chain coffee, at least go for the cheap one.

There is one across the road from Wynyard Station in Sydney CBD. More office workers than tourists there. I am subjected to ridicule for my starbucks but I can handle it.

I thought they'd nearly all shut down up here? Certainly none anywhere close to me.

I think I'm the only Canadian who doesn't like Timmys. I do have 3 china mugs that seem to have fallen into my purse over the years though.

It's a bugger when that happens. I've never set foot in a Max Brenner but I one of their cups in my cupboard. Weird looking thing it is as well. I had a cat called Timmy, kind of an odd name for a coffee house.

It's Tim Horton's actually. He was a hockey player who bought himself a donut shop when he retired from the NHL then after he made it a very successful franchise sold it He died in a high speed car crash when he hit a bridge abutment. Anyway, the name gets shortened to Tim's or Timmy's or just Horton's.

The coffe is shit, but I love their onion bagels with garlic & chive cream cheese.
