Once I realised that comparing all and sundry to the UK was a Really Bad Move (and ultimately pointless) the lynchings stopped and I started to get invited to a few Barbies ...
Then England won The Ashes back so I'm back to drinking in Pommy Themed bars drinking crappy copies of 'ale' reminiscing about The Homeland and which crisps I miss.
C'est la vie ...

There are only so many near-misses you can have. Still you must have conquered your fear of heights if you had one. Perhaps you should have a friend carry a ladder around so that he or she can come and get you..

Now THAT I have to see!!! lolAbsolutely correct misconception
. If you care to venture, and not many do, about 2 hours west to Chinchilla, you'll arrive at the water melon and lard arse capital of Australia. Worked there for 6 months and seen more biffers per head of population than anywhere else in Christendom.

The Aussies not being friendly and welcoming?!!? The majority of the Aussies that I've met are just lovely...and even better, once I open my mouth they just melt 'OMG YOU'RE IRISH!!!'
....it's actually quite flattering! In the loos @ the pub over the weekend a girl asked me to 'say something Irish'
so my English mate said 'I know your ma' as a joke....I opened the door, and as I walked out, I said 'I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!' lol....she probably didn't get it, but it made me laugh lol

oooo a looker! Keeping my eye on you Vimmy.
I have to disagree with that one too. I know it does depend on where you are, experiences etc, but I have lived/worked in several countries not just the UK, and they are definitely friendly in comparision. I remember saying to my man after being here in town 3 weeks I knew more people to have a coffee/beer with than the last place we llived for 3 years.
Hang on in there.
