What was your biggest misconception about Australia?

Nah we joined cos we want to do Zumba and a few of the other classes, tis only $19 a week! I eat very well...but am just a little unmotivated @ the moment, I also prefer to do proper excercise indoors where it's airconditioned, outside is for exploring etc, not for huffing and puffing and sweating like a pig lol

Was he in The Lion King?
Back on track ... another mis-conception ... I thought I'd see koalas and roos in my back yard ... hold on, that's true ...

It never occurred to me that I would feel very cold in 20 degrees. Knew what the temps would be like but not that I'd need a hot bath to warm up any more.
Never realised that we would see kangas and koalas on a regular basis. Thought they were all 'out bush', not in my garden.

biggest misconception - the weather
Aussies in UK bang on about it all the time
, I got the impression of of 24 - 28 degrees, warm, hot but never...
UV levels of 13 in summer
Pale skin, sorry its not joke.
Rain that would make UK's worse storm look like dewdrops
Heat that saps your soul by the end of summer.
Depending where you are in OZ Heat that rages like a furnace or humidity that makes you feel your breathing wet fug 24 hours a day.
The last thing I would move to OZ for is the weather.
Nice at the moment though - winter
