It was fine, just similar routine to the normal flu jab. Yes they want to know if you have any allergies or chronic illnesses. Then wait 10 or 15 mins afterwards before going home.
They were telling me that next year, the swine flu and normal flu will be combined into the one vaccination.

My husband went for the flu jab this morning having been urged by his doctor to have it as he is epileptic and has had a bad time recently with that. However, when he turned up for the jab this morning, he was turned away as apparently you shouldn't have it if you have had Guillain-Barre syndrome which he had last year - d'oh!
To make matters worse, the doctor also told my husband that the rest of us in the household must have the injection - I don't want to! However, it puts me in the awkward position that if I refuse and then get swine flu and pass it on to my husband I'll get blamed and feel guilt-ridden. I'm being stubborn about it this evening, not that he's mentioned it again, but will probably feel obliged to have the jab.

Eldest son, strapping fit and healthy 15 year old had the dreaded swine (confirmed) and was very ill for 3 weeks, even on Tamiflu. Got secondary chest infection, really nasty. Still wasn't right 4-5 weeks after. Took ages to regain his strength.
So, hubby and I got jabbed last week. Youngest son missed out as at friend's house but will get him done too (age 10).
Prob would not have had it if living in the UK but we don't get much in the way of sick pay here so if we were off work for any length on time we would be really screwed, so thats been the driving factor for us really.

I have the regular yearly flu shot and was told that it doesnt stop you getting flu, just stops you getting it quite as bad.
Dont feel obligated to have this jab, it will be you that gets any potential effects and you that has to suffer them.
Even the nurse at my GP surgery said for me not to bother having it.
Some people have been OK with it, some have developed horrific symptoms - its too much of a gamble and I do wonder how well this vaccine has been tested.

Im sorry but if I were you I would not have this injection, more and more people appear to be having some sort of effect from this jab.

I'm still debating and knowing me when I'm in indecisive mood, probably will still be long after the whole issue has passed

At the moment my thinking is that I won't have it. My daughter is only 7 and is therefore too young for the jab and being at school is probably the one most likely to pick up the virus and introduce it to our house, so if all of us can't have it, then what's the point in so far as our situation is concerned, my husband would still be exposed to the virus through her.

I would rather boost my immune system and eat healthily and go down that route.
Saying that, I could murder some chocolate

Very true, often effects develop years later. One of my colleagues has developed problems which her specialist thinks may be linked to that cervical cancer jab - not proven of course but it is being investigated.
