Hi Jen,
I really do believe that if I hadn't sent a number of PLEs and chased things up by phone then we'd still be sat in the UK. Can understand a concern by people still waiting that maybe many PLEs slows the process but I think the people dealing with PLEs are not the people actual processing the visa applications, nor are the people you speak to on the phone (if you are fortunate enough to get thru at all that is, or you don't get dropped after holding for 10 minutes oh the pain I remember it well). I remember around the time that we were getting really desperate for news that there were a few people on here saying the best thing is just to get in there and fight your corner, and they were getting results. We did same (independant app no agent) and got a result. I guess everyone just has to deal with the wait their own way and do what they think is best for them. Like I say, I really believe we would have waited a lot longer if we hadn't sent PLEs and called DIAC several times for updates, so I'm glad we did it the way we did.
Hope your visa gets sorted really soon!
All the best, Pam

Do you know it. I know it isn't that far from the Crown.

I agree that sending endless PLE's is just causing more backlogs and delays. However, honestly what do the DIAC expect when they change course mid visa assessment for so many people? There must be thousands of people who have never even heard of BE who are out of their minds with the whole thing by now. I bet they are ringing and emailing too with no idea that there are many others in the same boat. Logically this extra demand should have been planned for and extra staff put on the phones and answering PLEs...... I leave you to decide if you think this would have been done.

We did wait until the stated 7 months were up tho so it's not as tho we PLE'd & complained from from day 1 with no grounds

Hiya, yeah accepted - thing is, if you get terrible service and communication from a travel agents, or when you buy a car, you don't not complain just because other people don't complain and you want to be polite and wait patiently while everyone else's problem is dealt with. We viewed the visa process as a service which we had paid for, and when the stated service standards weren't met, we PLE'd and complained, and we got improved service as a result.
