RPH have a casual pool, (as do all the hospitals). You can work permanent casual which means you get paid an extra 20% but no holiday or sick pay and it depends on availability of shifts. The other way is you can work corporate casual which means you are guaranteed the amount of hours you sign up for but can do them whenever you are available. Corporate casual does not get the extra 20% but you get holidays and sick pay. To be honest having worked in RPH I know they always need casual staff and you will always get shifts whichever casual you take. If you can manage to save the extra 20% for when you need it I think you are better of just going casual. You can work as little or much as you like, although RPH do ask that you commit to 1 shift a week but even then they never push you to do it. Remember though, if you are casual or corporate you must be prepared to work anywhere in the hospital.

Congratulations on the visa! Good luck with the move. I'm sure you'll have no prob getting a job at RPH, just dont be tempted to take a job below your qualifications. Nurse Practitioner's are highly qualified professionals and deserve to be recognised as such.
When do you plan on coming over?

Cheers again for that am very experienced as an and e sister here but am fairly new to the ENP role did the training feb to aug of this year then my hospital pulled the funding typical bloody nhs for you. Am much more comfortable in majors have got my als instructor yadda yadda, now wondering should i delete at risk of sounding up my own butt! Anyway plans for coming over changing on a day to day basis. Plan A was aug/sep thought be good for my boys 7 and 8 to finish school year here then start them in perth refinishing end of year. That was before hubbis spouse visa application came thru in 4 WORKING DAYS! That was yesterday today his company have told him they be dropping down to 3 day week as of january now we thinking do we say to hell with it lets go now. God sorry Tracie bet you wish you hadnt asked now! Last couple of days have got me a bit ranty at times. I know coming to Perth is right thing but majorly stressed bout how my boys will cope live in small town in Wales all they have ever known etc Ok going to stop before someone sends the men in white coats to my door! Thanks for all advice so far will try to be less hyper next time Tryn

Hi Lol

That would be great, when are you off? Where are you are you going to be working? Im a paeds nurse and Im starting in the Mater childrens hosp A&E in Bris in Feb, Im a bit nervous too leaving everyone n stuff but I am really excited.
Were going on holiday to Port Douglas for the first week then to Bris. We managed to rent a nice apartment to move into straight away so thats been great.

Where did you do your training? Im from Liverpool originally but moved to Skem when I was a kid, where are you from? If you'd like to have a chat I can give you my mail address, my son is on facebook and he has email too, I think its hard for kids that age, hope it will all be ok
