My freind sent me a long and detailed email last night telling me all about her debilitating disease and symptoms.
She more or less pointed the same way as you Vash - but want I want to know is 'had she been a non smoker to begin with, then the withdrawal from nicotine wouldn't cause stress for her'
She also tried to convince me that their is no 'proven research' that shows clear links between passive smoking related illness. Now i thought there was.

The risks of passive smoking could be twice as bad as previously feared, the British Medical Journal has reported.
Researchers from London's St George's Medical School and the Royal Free hospital found passive smoking increased the risk of coronary heart disease by 50-60%.
The team, which studied 4,792 men over 20 years, said earlier studies which had found a 25-30% increased risk focused on people living with smokers.
They did not take account of exposure at work and other places, it added.
That's from 2004. I'm sure you could find plenty of recent research that makes the same point.

OK, Sarah I have just read Alan Carrs book and have completely changed my mind - I think you should buy her it.
After reading his book I can only say one thing:
I am a non-smoker and will not pick up another cigarette as long as I live.
Anyone who knows me, will not believe that
but my whole perception of smoking and stopping smoking has changed within the 3 hours it's taken me to read that book to the point where I feel physically sick at the thought of having another cigarette.

I can't believe it myself. When I got the book this morning the next shop I went into was the smokemart and I bought a carton of B&H.

I haven't had a cigarette since 4:30pm, which although it isn't long normally when I try to stop I would be pulling my hair out and wandering around aimlessly trying not to think about a having ciggy.
Instead I'm sat here smiling thinking I do not want a cigerette.
