Scottish Independence

Well having just read some of the blogs on The Scotsman it's evident that a decent percentage of Scots absolutely hate and loath the English.
Given that background, the sooner Scotland ****s off the better. Once it's 'gone' I wish it, what many Scots seem to wish for England, nothing but ill will.

Well I had a quick look. It's a blueprint for Scotland that's for sure. Generations of independence and the country still hasn't got a pot to piss in, it's best and brightest are leaving in droves and those remaining are still fighting amongst themselves.
Very enlightening... and indeed uplifting.

Independent Scotland would be beacon of progressive opinion, says Salmond
Salmond to say independent Scotland would champion welfare state and NHS, and thus help revitalise the centre-left in England

From outside of the EU though... so no big handouts from them.

Here's Salmond, saying for years that they would obviously be part of the EU, and here's Spain, already blocking Kosovo and likely to block Scotland as well. No matter how much he bleats they are "a succession state, not an accession state", its pretty dodgy that they could swing it, particularly with the UK & Spain pushing otherwise.
It's coming round to a question of if this independence referendum will be held at all. Cameron is likely to give them permission only under limited conditions (no SNP game playing), and against that backdrop any other referendum is likely to get banned by the scottish courts. Salmond may well consider that going off in a huff and blaming England once again, is the only way he can save face. If he held a referendum and lost it would be the end of his career and ambitions to be 'King Salmond'.
I wonder what odds you could get on 'no referendum' .....

what's his dragon done to deserve that
