Depends.

I'll happily buy the Big Issue (it's a good read for one thing) but beggers can f-off.

My act of kindness today was not punching someone in the face when they cut-across me with no prior warning.

Leaving money in shops? Christ almighty.

I mean, Gordon Ramsay's brother was apparently homeless and living in shop doorways etc. but was never seen wearing down and out clothes, instead, designer gear you or I probably could not afford.

It's not always about who gets but who gives. It's good for the soul and gives you inner peace. Just my view

I agree with your view, I happen to believe in the same thing.

Just today during lunch, a kid came and asked for some money to buy a coke. I remembered about this thread and thought why not, even though I was in doubt about the kid's intention.

So thanks to OP for bringing up this topic!

You know there are some damn good people on this site that have done random acts of kindness.

Some pretty fantastic people on here really and some I call real friends, not all that 'pixel people' shit but real friends that offer help and support to others.

Not naming names but I am quite proud to know alot of people on here even if it is via the computer.

Are you serious? Do you really think this is an act of kindness? Firstly a kid shouldn't ever approach anyone for money in such circumstances and secondly you have encouraged this by being stupid enough to give them money. For a coke FFS. If the kid was thirsty you should have pointed them towards a drinking tap and they could have had some free water.

In Belfast once, a guy dropped a load of 50 pound notes as he was taking his wallet out. We're talking about 500 pounds worth. I ran around picking them up, much to the disgust of passers-by who thought I was stealing them, and then ran after the guy and gave him his money back. The dirty look I got from him was unreal, like I'd nicked it from his pocket.

Another time in Glasgow, in an alleyway off Buchanan street there was always this sad looking individual trying to play a mouth organ. So I bagged up all my loose change probably about 50 pounds in total and gave it to him. He legged it as soon as I gave it to him. I later saw him lying pissed in George Square.

i still think it was an act of kindness. its not the givers problem if the kids shouldnt approach or be drinking coke. the kid asked the donor gave. no big deal.
very kind if you ask me
