Please stop complaining about the cringe worthy stuff, just ignore it, and be thankful, like those of us who have family and friends up there, that the TV stations are keeping us up to date with what's happening.

I understand what you're saying, but some of us are up here and are relying on the media to keep abreast of issues affecting our health & safety (not that I'm in any particular danger yet).

My point about the disaster porn is that it's spooking my relatives in Ireland. Julia Gillard seems to be wasting her time with emotional rubbish too, at least Anna Bligh uses her media appearances to convey vital information and as little white noise as possible.

I see the latest predicted peak is 5.2m not the 5.5m predicted previously.

This has to be the best news the people on the fringe of the 1974 zones have heard for a while.

That's just the start of it. QLD has another couple of months of 'wet season' ahead of it yet. Every chance that this flood won't have cleared before it all kicks off again.

Sorry.

...but it is a fact that this could go on for weeks in some shape or form.

Hope is not a strategy. No point in sugar coating it imo.

Agreed. Tried explaining that to the dozy woman I work with who was all cockahoop that the rains have sort of gone round us so we're 'dry' I said that if we don't get flooded by March then we're probably safe but until then it's :fingerscrossed: She said I was negative, I said she could call it negative, I call it realistic.
