This is probably one of the damning points, naturally, people can argue what a person would do with a gun in their room, and in what order, to the cows come home.

Not correct- he grabbed his gun whilst on his stumps according to his statement, and fired through the door. It was only when he realised that Reeva was not in bed after he had backed out of the bathroom that he tried to get into the toilet, which was locked, so he went for his prosthetics to try to kick the door down.

A jumpy, aggressive f**cked up, sportsman with a disability, and reportedly an attitude and a personality disorder, living in SA, in a crime culture, who is still only 26? Plausible. I've met blokes in their 20s who were trained to be aggressive, were aggressive and did do things with tunnel vision. Of course these traits can make him as guilty as much as innocent.Thing is, we still haven't heard the full story and noone will until the Cops get it all - and even then we won't get every detail.
Look, I agree it's not looking good for him though!

However:
On my way to the bathroom I screamed words to the effect for him/them to get out of my house and for Reeva to phone the police. It was pitch dark in the bedroom and I thought Reeva was in bed.
And no matter how dark a room is, you can still tell if someone is in there with you, the least you'd do if you thought there was a potentially dangerous intruder would be to wake your loved one up for them to get away from the danger area/ring the police/etc.

Was the toilet soundproofed? I know if Himself was screaming in the middle of the night to get out of the house I'd be screaming back at him...

Hell, who goes and gets a gun (from the bed mind you) and goes to meet a potential intruder without turning on the lights?

Who the hell confronts an intruder, with either lights on or off, without first dialling the emergency services?

Their right mind?

Most of us in the UK have never fired, or used a gun, or been in the situation where we might use it.

Part of his defence surely would be that he (allegedly) surprised another intruder, who was armed, sometime in the recent past who got away......
not to get off, but to diminish the responsibility or liability.

South African police immediately suspected Oscar Pistorius when a witness came forward to say she'd seen a sawn-off man with a shotgun!

Oops.
Shots were down through the toilet down, from normal height, which means he had his legs on. To get to the bathroom you have to go past the bed. And two bottles of testosterone/needles were found.

It's quite refreshing that this case in South Africa is not 'race'-related.
