Melbourne has felt like Singapore this past few days. Makes me more determined to self build to make a house self cool/heat rather than the modern or should I say contemporary designs.

That's nothing compared to the 944 mms or 37inches Mumbai had in 1 day on 26/7/05 I was on holiday in India then. I think there were over 1000 casualties.

It was scary - some of my cousins who were stranded and couldn't reach home, had to take shelter wherever they could find it - in this case with complete stangers at the nearest house! We had over 30 children camping in our house when their school bus got stranded in front of my aunt's building!

It was also amazing, because ordinary people were reaching out and providing food and shelter to anyone and everyone. That was humanity at its best!

The only time I've seen Coober Pedy was on Pricilla Queen of the Desert and def didn't rain in that.

Well looking at the radar, and knowing where she is, she probably got what we are getting right now.....in which case she will be dripping from places she didn't know she had
Not enough rain, cos its only a small cell, but its coming down pretty heavy. I saw it coming, went round and pulled all the windows in, only to find that The Bloke had then woken up and opened them all again! Priority job now is move the bookcases and files before he does it again - I might not catch them when they only damp next time! Grrrrrrrrrrrr
