wow over 800 replies in here now, that's insane! :)

So moonstar and doc, i'm in the same boat on the cash front! Hoping to have about £3k, but i keep spending weekends jetting around the UK to see my friends and it's costing a fortune! Was in london with the lads for the rugby this weekend, what a result! bank empty again though! argh

so my 3k accounts for bond, a couple of months rent, food and a surfboard :) i have my priorities straight! Stuff like cars, electrical goods etc will just have to wait, i'm prepared to live a little more simply for a while when i get there. No job sorted yet either. Hah! But no worries! There's only so much you can plan, and money is less important than desire and enthusiasm.. I couldn't care less about being broke, i've been there and got through it before, and aus is about to hit a massive boom time IMO so can't see any problems for professional hard working types like us lot!

hope you all had relaxing weekends and a little good news comes your way this week :) take care and don't stress about anything, it all works out, honestly! life is good :D

Hey Pacey - sounds like you had a good weekend. First on my expenditure list when I get to Oz will be a decent surfboard too!

I've kinda had some good news - after my little trauma last week. Have had some really good advice from George Lombard and a colleague of his who he put me in touch with and between them they reckon they should be able to sort me out (oooh er!). Just have to pass my Masters degree now. Nothing like the promise of a visa to get the motivation going! Hehe.

So for anyone who's having any issues progressing their apps - speak to George - he gets a huge thumbs up from me and I'm not easily pleased!

Have a good day everyone!

I'll be going with about £3k as well but have a job lined and a sofa for a couple of weeks. I'll struggle for a while probably due to uni and credit card debts which are a bit of a worry but I guess we'll have to see how that all works out.

Whoa!! A lots been going on here in the past few days. Hello to everyone!! :D

I've been staying away from computers, as I've had some days off work, and I work on a computer, so I needed a break.

Hot topics at the moment - I plan on taking about £15k with me when I go (most of that money will be from selling my car), though depending on the exchange rate, I may only take about £5k over with me and leave the rest over here and bring it over if I need it.

I think if I take it all, I will spend it all, where as if I just take enough to get by for a bit, I will be able to get sorted and then still have £10k or so still back in savings and move it across when I need it for a house or something.

With regards to the family, I've told my parents, and they like the idea. I hope they don't want to get rid of me. I have told some of my friends that I'm thinking about it, but won't tell them I'm actually going until I get a Visa granted.

Oh, and I baked my second cake yesterday. I'm now officially a women I think!!!! :o

Howdy Folks,

It has been busy the last day or so - g'day to all the newbies!

Another cake Xzibit? - shouldn't you be brushing up on barbie skills? :D FYI... if you're keeping some money in the UK you should be able to get gross instead of net interest on it (as you won't be earning any money in the UK).

Cheers,

Nick

Yeah, it's my last cake, but I made it for my Gran  (Ain't I sweet).

Good news on the interest then! I never knew about that. I'll have to make sure I find a decent account to leave it in.

Anyone is a senior member after a certain number of posts. It's a polite term for "post whore". :D

I've just been playing snake in the arcade bit on the forum. Think am 18th so far. Must get into the top ten.
