British Expats - The Official Loners Thread

Congrats Doc, you must be well happy!

Sorry I haven't been on here much, have been far too busy enjoying the UK for the last month. I had an amazing time at home over Xmas but it broke my heart when I had several of my female friends literally begging me not to come back to Oz.

I'm determined to be a damn sight more positive this time around. I've come armed with a list of companies and contacts so I can get a new job ASAP if my boss doesn't get me my driving license and start sending me places within the month.

I''m also determined to join a gym/buy a mountain bike/start cooking proper meals so that I can actually show something for my time here. It'll also help me meet some women which is one of the things that depresses me the most (the lack of them that is).

Pony: I'm REALLY sorry but I couldn't bring back thousands of PG Tips as planned thanks to not having any room in my bag :( In fact I coulnd't bring back any at all :(

I'm just going to keep talking to myself...

Hobo's are really getting on my tits atm! One shouted at me in the supermarket last night as I had my RM shirt on and he was obvs pro-military. Just now I'm sitting in a backpacker hostel and one come sin and starts asking everyone for cigarettes and hassling the girl behind the desk. GRRRR.

:eek: well I'll be applying next year and going over alone , I'm 33 and only my Gran here for close family so won't have to worry too much like some about missing loved ones. I'm single and have no kids. It still feels scary but so does staying in the Northwest of England for the rest of my life ! I just need to save some more money before I put in my forms. But I think I'll have no problems getting in.
