Did any of you go/are going over on a 175/176 visa? Got enough points if my aunt sponsors me so not giving up yet. Will be over for a hop in feb or march as well so make sure a few of you are around.

Glad to see that you haven't given up and lucky that your Auntie can sponsor you which is probably better as your not tied to 1 company who could be rubbish.

Someone on here mentioned the fact that they have been made redundant whilst being sponsored by a company which means in theory, you are supposed to leave within 28 days which would be awful.

I have no family at all in Australia so I could only get 176 state sponsorship visa but from what I've read on here, that doesn't guarantee me a better chance of finding a job. Some people have got state sponsorship and given up trying to get a job they are qualified in.

Hey mate. Was really sorry to hear about your setback. I came over on a 176 sponsored by my sister, it was really easy but took a little while. If you are able to apply immediately (ie: got the points, can afford the fees for application and medicals etc) then you could be here within 9 months. You case would probably be very simple so no worries that you would get the visa.

Good luck, go for it! Any q's feel free to pm me! Don't give up if it's what you want.

Happy New Year to all.

Yep I did mate. Was pretty easy - just a completed form with nominated occupation and proof of qualifications (uni transcripts in my case) that met the standard for that occupation.

Any questions ask away

Did you do it online? Cos I did most of mine ages ago and just logged in again but it takes me straight to the payment page as everything else has been completed, but I need to go back and review it.
