Jeff,
very envious as we are just off to solicitors tomorrow to get everything certified, then visa app in post..........long, long nail biting wait!!!
Your son must be v. excited? Must be a time of very mixed emotions for you though? (well, both of you really, I expect!)
LOL & hope you are managing to stay reasonably(?!) sane.
Sally
The dream is still alive right? Maybe you need a new thread for 'The Adventure of Jeff & Son' ?

Re: My dream has died
You're all ******g mad in this thread!
Seriously though Jeff - If you do end up in Brisbane (and its a good place to be - I've been here for 9 yrs now) dont worry about finding female company.
We're constantly reminded in the press that Brisbane has a MASSIVE gender disparity and that 30-something women are climbing the walls desperately looking for men.
Of course being happily married I dont get to capitalise on this - but spend a night out in Brisbane CBD and the statistics are walking around - there are women EVERYWHERE!!!
..and if you're bringing 30,000 GBP (AU$75k) thats a good deposit! You can easily get a 2 bedroom apartment big enough for you and your son away from the city in comfortable surburbia and keep an affordable sized mortgage!
(www.realestate.com.au GREAT place to check)

Re: My dream has died
Thanks you lot, I haven't yet hit the "buy now" button daunted.
I'll be honest, I almost daren't. Which sounds crazy doesn't it, my finger hovvered once or twice but i have this parental responsibility thing to sort out first and i'm not sure how long that takes. Gunna ring the solicitor again this morning.
It's nice to hear there are loads of single laydeeees out there but they will just have to wait, they are not on my list of things to do just yet.
A mate of mine came around last night too, and he more or less made an offer for my house. So i think I'll take it off the market and then sell it to him.
That should save me about a grand by not having to pay the estate agents.
I'll tell ya what, its just as well i got made redundant a few weeks back because i haven't got time for a job.
I haven't got time to be playing on here either but i like to catch up with the goss. I'm not gunna get up as early as my my friend Daunted though.
7.14 and the PC is on the go, your some girl Daunted

Re: My dream has died
Jazzy,
Glad your spirits have lifted a bit.
If you ever do decide to write that book, just print all your threads, and who knows they might even be turned into a soap opera!
What a difference a few days makes, eeh? It would be great if your friend did buy the house, imagine the money you will save, money for you at the other end.
Things are only getting better.
Good Luck,
Crocodileseamus

Re: My dream has died
Thanks croc,
the hurt is subsiding a bit as time goes by but there's a long way to go yet my friend.
Since my pal came round about the house i have had calls about two more people wanting to view it. He may well be my pal but at the end of the day its the highest bidder that gets it.
It'll all come in handy I'm quite sure.
Hows croc keeping anyway?
Jeff
